Public Transportation Open Forum

What: Nebraska City & Blue Rivers Public Transit Forum
Where: Veterans' Memorial Building, Nebraska City
When: Thursday 4/23/2026, 6:30pm - 8:30pm
1. Blue Rivers team shares current service, current funding mix (noting City & county contributions), and loss of funding
2. Via Transportation discusses unmet service needs, and shares the on-demand service additions proposed
3. Via Transportation shares a mixed funding approach for revenue
4. Transit Around Nebraska City’s consideration of Via's service & funding proposal, and recommendation of one on-demand option, as well as the steps required to get there.
5. Town Hall conversation to follow

The community is coming together to help keep food pantry shelves full during the holidays. Saturday, Nebraska City HIgh School will be the site of Pioneers Pull Together School-Wide Food Drive: Let's Load the Wagon from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
