WELLNESS WEDNESDAY!
Emotional wellness tip comin at ya today 🙌. So a lot of times when we have a feeling, we judge it. Like “I feel sad, I SHOULDN’T feel sad, it’s so stupid!!🤦‍♀️” or “I feel upset, this SHOULDN’T bother me, whyyy am I so weird😣?!” Turns out, judgment actually tangles us up in our feels even MORE, ya know? Like now I’m not just sad, I’m angry that I’m sad or I’m not just upset, I’m annoyed that I’m upset. BUT COCOA, IS THERE ANOTHER WAYYYY🫨?? Oh yes girl. There is. Next time you have an uncomfy feeling:
1️⃣ notice it🕵️ & NAME it💡like “oh huh I notice my tight chest and racing thoughts, I’m feeling anxious right now.”
2️⃣ Then practice the OPPOSITE of judgment, try acceptance and validation 🩵 like “this feeling is not good OR bad, it just is, it comes & it goes, everyone feels anxious sometimes.”
3️⃣ Then keep moving on with your day, one paw in front of the other.

I want to share with you some of my fav guided meditation apps👏💚! Now, you may be thinking🤔… “mindfulness doesn’t work” or “meditation just isn’t it for me” but suggests meditation is actually for everyone! As little as 5 minutes a day can improve sleep, focus, energy, and sense of calm🧘. You can use it as a daily practice or just as needed before bed💤😴, in a scary class🫣, before a difficult convo, or on exam day🙇. Give it a try???

On this … what are you needing? Are you needing a social boost? Do you need to work up a sweat? Do you need some down time to yourself to recharge? Do you need to pick up a book or a hobby that’s been collecting dust? Do you need to scroll through cute doggo pics on insta? Yes, yes you do 😜
Remember, taking care of your wellness doesn’t have to be some GIANT activity or 🐘-sized task, it can be something small🐛 - your wellness can be improved in small actions over time. ✔️✔️✔️ 🐶💙🐾

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY!

It’s not easy to ask for help. I GET IT🙋‍♀️I’M A DOG and I have to ask for help with most things... like, doors for instance. Asking for help can often feel like weakness or failure. But think about this for a sec: when your friend asks YOU for help, do you jump to thinking they’re weak or a failure? Maybe you do... (eek!) but hopefully you don’t, and you take a more compawssionate approach! Practice social wellness this week by giving and receiving help with an open heart.💞

MINDFUL MONDAY!
Hello there furriend👋. I’m sure many of have felt a bit swept away by the first few weeks of the semester🌊🌊🌊. These weeks have been a bit clunky with the snow days and hectic with recruitment and well, COLDDD🥶. And you know what, it’s normal to forget how to take care of ourselves when when we get caught up in this tidal wave of change and productivity!! Totes normal. So my recommendation to you is to STOP✋NOW. And take stock🧐. How is this semester going so far?? What’s working and what’s not? If something isn’t working, how can you adjust sliiiightly? Did something work well for you in the past that maybe fell off the routine📝🎶🧘‍♀️? Is there some self care that used to help that you forgot about🛁💤🫂? You have more control steering your ship than maybe you think you do, compawsionately bring yourself back on course⛵️. 🐶💙🐾

Free kisses all semester longgg!!! That’s it, that’s the announcement 🥰. Welcome back, Jays! I mished you!! I hope you are feeling ready to do the thing🤗
Now, I know some of you hoomans may be feelin super energized by the new year👏, motivated to reflect on your life, make big changes, or set intentions for where you ought to head 📈. AND I also know there are other hoomans who may feel exhausted by the holidays or sick of winter or just plain not ready to be back at it. Either way, you’re a normal hooman bean💗. Remember, January 1 is not some magical date🪄- you can always paws, reflect, and reset ANY day of the year. Sooo, I encourage you to tread compawssionately towards your goals my furriends, and if you fall short, let’s not throw the tennis ball out with the dish water. Let’s simply adjust - find smaller, more achievable steps! 🐶💙🐾
