I have some exciting news to share! For anyone who works at Tomah Health, I look forward to the opportunity to see you in class! I will be offering yoga for employees, on site, on Tuesday evenings throughout October.

After taking care of patients all day, I hope you'll take time for yourself, grab a coworker, and enjoy some mindful movement with us.

We will be practicing a slow flow, which is friendly for beginners. If you don't have a mat, no worries. I will be supplying mats for the group.

In Yin yoga you have the opportunity to experience a deep stretch while feeling fully supported by props and focusing your mind. You have time with each pose to explore and find the right posture and support for your body and receive prompts to guide your thoughts.

Check out this beautiful use of props in caterpillar pose by the ladies in a recent Yin class. 😍 Notice how each of them has decided on a different use, meeting their own needs and preferences in class.

Have you been wondering what Yin Yoga is?

Yin yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga where poses are held for several minutes—typically 3 to 5 minutes. Unlike more active forms of yoga, Yin focuses on deep tissue release by targeting the body's connective tissues like ligaments, fascia, and joints, rather than just the muscles. It practiced with the body relaxed and supported by props, encouraging stillness and inward awareness. It’s particularly useful for increasing flexibility, improving joint mobility, and calming the nervous system. It's generally intended to be a very relaxing practice.

Our Yin classes also feature essential oils, optional hands on assists, modifications to poses accessible to all and a welcoming atmosphere.
