The original wound.
We react to something 20, 30, 60 years later over and over and we think, “oh I am just sensitive to …..” whatever it is you are reacting to. Someone’s facial expression, tones, expectations, questioning or something as simple as a request to put your shoes away.
Where does that come from? What does your body feel like when you are triggered? What becomes active for you?
A lot of times we react in order to get the person to be quiet, make the stimuli change and mostly, to avoid feeling what is really going on.
Here’s what we work on at Freedoms Bend. We follow the footsteps all the way back. We find that original wound. We medicate and bandage that in order to free you from what you have been putting band aides on for so long.
We walk together. We nurture the wound. We set your body free. Your spirit free. Your mind free. You, have the opportunity to walk into situations where you normally would react, and now you become aware. You now have a choice of how you want to respond. It’s a beautiful process.

Look up my friend. The pain you may be feeling right now can be lifted and turned into sparkling white snow. Getting outside, being with nature and breathing that cold air can help you process and ground your body.
Honor what your body needs in this very moment. Mine needed a quiet, walk in the freezing cold.

Horses are natural somatic healers, and as the coaching work progresses, they gently touch or move parts of their own energy centers in their bodies toward the client. This connection and energy is deeply felt by the client.

These experiences stay with the client for a lifetime because it is so different from merely “talking about” a challenge, an impending decision, or a traumatic event. It is in this full experience with both the human and equine coach that the magic unfolds, leaving clients with a lasting reminder that supports their continuing transformation. The work with horses often brings more clarity of thought, an expansion in awareness, and emotional healing.

Sometimes we have to break down our thoughts to separate what are “our thoughts” and what are “our trauma thoughts” or “our pain thoughts”.
And sometimes we need to realize we are not our thoughts!
We can surround ourselves with a bubble of protection, support and encouragement to fight those negative thoughts.

Last night we had Chinese food and my fortune said “flush your worries away”. How appropriate. I joke with my family that worrying has been a hobby of mine my whole life.
Worrying is so useless and an energy suck and man do I get sucked in.
How do we get out?
We need to choose where to put our energy. I could be worrying about the rain or I could notice the beautiful sky the storm brought.
I could worry about people in my family or I could be so grateful for the close relationships we have.
I could stay up all night worrying about clients or I could pray that every session we have makes a life long impact.
Worrying is a state of mind. Today I choose to change my state. Flush my worries away. To choose joy, peace and freedom.
