Triggered Focal Point Massage

Triggered Focal Point Massage Licensed Massage Therapist & Certified Stretch Facilitator. Clear results. No fluff. Just real relief. After that, I may reconsider.

Helping people in pain get real, lasting relief and moving freely again using targeted Neuromuscular Massage Therapy + Mobility Work. I’m Kay, a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Stretch Facilitator, and creator of a movement-based mobility program. I specialize in Precision Neuromuscular Massage Therapy (PNMT)—a clinical approach to pain relief and movement restoration. My goal is to restore balance, improve mobility, and enhance strength so you can perform at your highest potential. My work focuses on treating:

Chronic & acute pain

Soft tissue dysfunctions (limited mobility, joint restrictions)

Nerve-related conditions (sciatica, carpal tunnel, etc.) PNMT is a targeted, evidence-based therapy—not a relaxation massage. Through precise assessments and hands-on techniques, I work to correct muscular imbalances, release adhesions, and restore joint function for pain-free, optimal movement. As a Certified Stretch Facilitator, I integrate stretching to enhance flexibility, reduce tension, and support long-term mobility. I am also the founder of Freedom to Move Pain-Free, a structured mobility and movement program designed to maintain progress, build resilience, and eliminate movement limitations.

Most people don’t have a flexibility problem. They have a control problem. That’s exactly what this series is built to address.

Over the last several months, I’ve been developing a set of guides designed to help your body move with more control, handle load without flaring up, and feel more supported in everyday movement.

These aren’t random exercises or quick fixes. They’re structured, clinically-informed guides based on how the body actually moves as a system.

They’re not meant to replace hands-on work. They’re meant to support it, helping you build a stronger foundation between sessions so your progress actually lasts.

If you saw my last post, this is what I was talking about. And now… it’s almost ready.
I’m in the final stage, finishing the visuals and bringing everything together.

Launching this spring.

If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking,
“Why does this keep coming back?”
You’re going to want these.

Stretch Sunday
try this with a partner.

This one targets the tricep, shoulder, into the side body, and the front of the chest.

Reach your arm up and rest the hand on the neck/upper back.

Have your partner:

• Place a hand on the non stretch shoulder for support

• Slowly pull the elbow towards the head to stretch the tricep area

• Gently guide back to open the front of the shoulder/chest

• add a slight side bend away to lengthen through the arm

It doesn’t need to be forced. Play around with the movement. Small adjustments usually make the biggest difference.

Tissue work + movement = information

In PNMT, we’re not just assessing what feels restricted at rest, we’re looking at how it behaves through motion.

This is something I’ve been quietly working on behind the scenes.

After 13 years in this field, I’ve only grown more confident in how important massage really is.

But I’ve also seen that what happens between sessions matters just as much.
Most people aren’t just dealing with “tight muscles.” They’re dealing with bodies that need better movement, better load tolerance, and a nervous system that feels safe enough to let go of protective tension.
That’s what led me to start creating guides like this.

Not to replace massage, but to support the work done in session. Built from the same approach I use every day in my practice as a Precision Neuromuscular Massage Therapist and Stretching Facilitator, to help reduce stiffness, restore motion, and keep progress moving forward.

This is just one piece of something bigger I’ve been building.

More coming soon. 💙

If this is something you’d want access to when it’s ready, let me know.

Pain does have to be your normal.
Pain is a system response, not a life sentence.

So many people think they just have to live with their pain. Most of the time, that isn’t true.

Through Precision Neuromuscular Massage Therapy and targeted stretching, my work focuses on identifying what’s actually causing the problem so we can address it, not just temporarily relax muscles.

I currently have 3 openings available next month.

If your body has been asking for attention, now’s a good time to listen.

13 years ago today I graduated clinical massage school. 💖
It’s been 13 years of learning how the body really works and helping people manage their pain and move better again.

Here are three things I’ve learned about pain:

• Pain isn’t always where the problem starts.

The spot that hurts is often just where the body is compensating.

• “Tight muscles” are usually protecting something.

Muscles guard joints and structures that aren’t moving well or are under stress.

• Real change happens when we restore movement, not just relax muscles.

That’s why my work focuses on Precision Neuromuscular Massage Therapy and targeted stretching to address the root cause of pain.

Helping people understand their bodies and move without constant tension or discomfort has been one of the most rewarding parts of the last 13 years.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their care along the way. 💙

If you've ever had a massage that truly helped your pain, what made the biggest difference for you?

Moving through a lateral adductor stretch.

The video is sped up, but I’m holding each side for about 30 seconds before transitioning, staying low as I shift across so the hips stay open and the stretch stays active.

Instead of just hanging out in the position, try keeping the adductors lightly engaged while you’re there. That small amount of activation helps the nervous system feel safe in the range and often allows the stretch to go deeper without forcing it.
This area gets tight fast if you spend a lot of time sitting, running, lifting, or doing anything that keeps the hips in the same position for long periods.

Slow it down.
Breathe.

Let the hips open gradually.
If you try this one, tell me where you feel it most: inner thigh, hips, hamstrings… or somewhere unexpected?

There’s something powerful about when your body starts telling you it’s time for your next session… before the reminder notification even pops up.

This client spent years trying different things to find relief from persistent headaches, migraines, and the tension that built up through the neck and shoulders. When she first came in, it was more of a “last ditch effort” than anything.

Now she comes in regularly without fail.
Her headaches are far less frequent, the tension doesn’t build the way it used to, and her body has become much better at telling her when it’s time for her next session.
That’s the goal.

Not just temporary relief, but helping the body move, regulate, and recover in a way that actually changes the pattern over time.
I’m incredibly grateful for clients who trust the process and allow me to be part of their journey toward feeling better.

✨ Next months schedule release goes live tomorrow.

If you’ve been thinking about getting in, keep an eye out for the openings.

I overheard a conversation at the gym recently where someone said, “Functional muscle is a myth. If you have muscle, it’s functioning.”

Let’s clarify something.

Yes, muscle contracts. That’s what it does.
But muscle function isn’t just about contraction. It’s about timing, coordination, load tolerance, and how that muscle interacts with the rest of the system.

Strength and function are not the same thing.

You can lift heavy and still have muscles that:

• Fire too early
• Fire too late
• Overpower stabilizers
• Poor load sharing
• Movement patterns that create pain

That doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means the system isn’t distributing force efficiently.
When people talk about “functional strength,” what they usually mean is this:

•Does the muscle fire at the right time?
•Does it support the joint through range?
•Can it tolerate force without creating compensation?

All muscle contracts.
Not all muscle coordinates well.
Strong is great. Coordinated is better.

If you’re strong but still hurting, it’s not about building more muscle. It’s about helping the system work together better.

Take a moment...
Be honest, when was the last time you bent forward without bracing for something to hurt?

This isn’t a hamstring stretch.
It’s a full-body check-in.

A forward fold shows how your nervous system, spine, hips, and connective tissue are communicating. When it feels tight, shaky, or unpredictable, it’s rarely about “short muscles.” It’s usually about protection.

Your body doesn’t limit movement to be difficult. It limits movement because it doesn’t feel safe yet. Over time, avoidance turns into compensation. Compensation turns into pain.

This is why mobility isn’t about forcing range, it’s about restoring trust between your brain and your body. When that connection improves, movement gets smoother, stronger, and more confident.

If bending forward feels sketchy, that’s not a failure. It’s feedback. And feedback is something we can work with.

Take a second...
Can you do this movement?
How far down do your fingers reach?
And at the end of your range, where do you feel it the most?
