Thank you for helping us celebrate Social Work Month and the stellar Social Workers that make up the Sycamore Wellness team!

Our final installment has us hearing from Therapist Caitlin Beha Worth, MSW, LSW.

Witnessing the vulnerability, depth, and strength of the human spirit is an unmatched experience. What a privilege it is to walk alongside our clients in their best and worst of times. Getting to know each of them for who they are, who they’ve been, and who they want to become is a gift I’ll never tire of. It is truly amazing to be a part of a journey that sees someone learn, grow, and achieve the kind of clarity that leads to well deserved peace.

I’m proud to celebrate by honoring the importance of human connections and relationships!

The Social Work Month celebration keeps moving forward as we hear from Therapist Tamara Tuttle, MSW, LISW-S.

As a Social Worker, I love creating a safe space of non-judgment that allows for each of my clients to bring their most authentic selves. People come to therapy because they want change and I am honored when they trust that our relationship will support that journey.

reminds me why I love this work so deeply. I’m continually inspired by the courage it takes for clients to pursue growth, to show up authentically, and to commit to understanding their own identity. It’s an honor to walk alongside people as they build insight, resilience, and a life that feels true to who they are. This work is rooted in connection, and I’m grateful every day to be part of that journey.

Today we celebrate Social Work Month by hearing from Therapist Sally Vogel, MSW, LSW.

Being a social worker means getting a front-row seat to the strength of the human spirit. I truly value how transformative a single relationship can be and how powerful it is to watch people grow through change. It’s an honor to do this work every day.

I’m proud to celebrate by celebrating each person’s wins.

March is Social Work month and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by highlighting our amazing team members and the many reasons why we are proud to call ourselves Social Workers!

We kick off the celebration by hearing from our Owner and Chief Therapist, Christy Daron, MSW, LISW-S.

“Social work is more than a profession—it’s a commitment to the dignity and worth of every individual I meet. While the work can be deep, it’s the relationship building that makes it sustainable. There is nothing quite like the "aha!" moments, the shared laughter, and the genuine fun that comes from connecting with people on a human level.

I’m proud to celebrate by honoring the resilience of the human spirit and the joy of the journey!”

Thank you for following along as we have highlighted modern day change makers this Black History Month!

To close out the celebration, we recognize Dr. Patrice Palmer for her alignment with the value of the importance of human relationships.

Dr. Patrice Palmer is a proud Social Worker, self proclaimed agent of change, and the founder and CEO of Chosen4Change, an organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of mass incarceration by reducing recidivism. Named the NASW’s 2022 National Social Worker of the Year, Dr. Palmer once spent 20 years of her life addicted to drugs and alcohol and cycling in and out of the criminal justice system. Today, she is committed to helping others break the cycle by giving them and their families tools to navigate the criminal justice system while also empowering them through personal development training. By thinking outside of the box and using her own personal experiences in building relationships, Dr. Palmer embodies the idea that recovery is indeed possible for all that aim to achieve it.

We recognize Bryan Stevenson for his alignment with the value of being a Social Justice Leader.

Bryan Stevenson is lawyer, activist, law professor, and founder and Executive Director of the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI). He aims to challenge biases against the poor, minorities, and children who are within the criminal justice system. The EJI collaborates with law schools, regional bar associations, and community legal programs to expand legal education and pro bono defense work throughout the American South. Stevenson’s 2014 book turned movie adaptation, Just Mercy, brought mainstream attention to his career defending disadvantaged clients and the inherent injustices they faced within the United States judicial system. In speaking up when others are quiet, Bryan Stevenson puts
social justice into action and highlights the idea that each person is more than the worst thing they’ve ever done.

We recognize Amanda Gorman for her alignment with the value of Dignity and Worth of the Person.

Named the first National Youth Poet Laureate in 2017, Gorman uses her poetry to bring light to topics such as oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization. Diagnosed with a speech impediment and auditory processing disorder in childhood, she chose to tackle her challenges by instead viewing them as gifts and strengths. Her nonprofit organization One Pen One Page aims to combat illiteracy and inequality by teaching students to combine creative writing with social change. In believing in the inherent value of all, Gorman emphasizes that everyone, regardless of background, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
