Also with the holidays coming up, be mindful of choking hazards within reach of small children and pets, and double check the lists of toxic plants, veggies, and fruits that can cause your furry friends real damage (ex poinsetta are EXTREMELY toxic to cats, and as usual do not give your dogs onion or garlic). Nobody wants to spend Yule in the ER.

We've finally put up decorations, watched some nostalgic spooky stuff, and I feel ready to welcome in a season of soft darkness and velvet-soft shadows that I treat not as something to be feared or rejected, but welcomed as family, as a crucial piece of myself, as all the ghosts of who I used to be.

How light would our hearts become if we accepted the idea that our past selves did the best they could at the time, that they were flawed human beings just as our current selves are?

Theme of the Week: Somehow it seems fitting that our old friend the is here, at the start of the new year. This energy serves to remind us that some journeys, whether literal or not, must be undertaken alone. We leave behind people, patterns, behaviors, and habits that keep us from reaching our fullest potential, the best possible version of ourselves from moment to moment. But remember: Alone doesn't necessarily mean Isolated.
