Thanks for being here to support APSO! We are a group of volunteer colleagues working to bring standards to our profession.
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝?:
1) We work with subject matter experts (SMEs) who also volunteer their time as a working group to write and develop drafts based on scientific evidence.
2) Drafts are then open for peer review.
3) The final standard is reviewed by an ethics committee, then sent to legal counsel for review and approval.
4) Standard is approved and published on our website.

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the Diagnostic Hearing Examination for Adults is now available for public review and comments. This draft standard will be available for commenting until March 19th, at which time all comments will be forwarded to subject matter experts for review and final editing.
You participation in reviewing and suggesting final edits is a crucial part of the standards development process. We appreciate the time that goes into every comment we recieve and each comment is reviewed and considered before any standard is finalized by the subject matter expert group.
