This year, the residents and staff of the McGuire Memorial Community Home Program were given a very important holiday challenge:
✨ 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲?✨

To keep things extra fun and festive, two categories were announced:
🎄 Best Traditional Christmas Tree
🎬 Best Movie-Themed Christmas Tree

Each community home chose a category and worked together to deck the halls and trim the branches!

And now… this is where YOU come in! 🎉 Help decide which two community homes will take home an extra gift this Christmas (in addition to the ultimate prize of bragging rights)!

Our students at the School at McGuire Memorial truly lit up the holiday season with their Christmas program, “December Lights.” Their joyful singing and beautiful music illuminated the room and filled it with holiday cheer! 🎶🎄

There were Christmas crafts galore throughout the McGuire programs this season! From ornaments and décor to gifts and goodies, our Christmas craft sales were packed with handmade talent and festive creativity. Thank you to everyone who crafted, supported, and shopped! 🎄🎁

After way too much turkey and pie, everyone enjoyed a fun PJ Day complete with comfy clothes, big smiles, and even some festive karaoke to kick off the holiday cheer.

It was the perfect way to relax together and shift from the cozy Thanksgiving activities into the joy and excitement of the Christmas season. 🎄

Today, we’re grateful to share a few special moments from our Thanksgiving Prayer Service. These photos capture the heart of our community ~ coming together in faith, gratitude, and love with those we serve and those we work alongside each day. It’s a beautiful reminder of the compassion and unity that guide our mission.

As we pause to reflect, we hold close the words of Scripture:

Caring for someone as they age is a privilege that comes with both joys and challenges. You witness their perseverance, love and grateful spirit but you also see the changes that come with time. One of our dedicated DSPs at McGuire Memorial shared the story of her dear friend Michael - a man who taught her the value of patience, keeping a sense of humor, and what it truly means to show up for someone every day.

We are proud to share that their beautiful story has been published in the 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 publication through the Institute on Community Integration | University of Minnesota. It’s a touching reminder of the heart and dedication that define the work of Direct Support Professionals everywhere.

Aging brings its trials, but it also deepens the bonds we share. To every caregiver walking this journey ~ your compassion makes all the difference.
