Due to the fierce winds, predicted heavy snow and slick & hazardous road conditions, we have decided to close ALL SUNFLOWER THERAPY CENTER CLINICS TOMORROW 1/15/26.

With Trick or Treat coming up, we wanted to share these amazing freebies that can help kiddos who might have difficulty with how overwhelming Trick or Treating can be or those kiddos who aren’t able to verbally communicate! Thank you Breezy Special Ed for the freebies!

*the social story is helpful for all children to be able to know what to expect during Trick or Treating- let’s be real, it is a sensory overload type situation for all of us!

*the bracelet allows the child to be able to express themselves by pointing to “trick or treat”

*the communication board allows children to point to multiple pictures to create a phrase to request or comment while Trick or Treating

Crafting with your toddler…

*Is it a lot to clean up? YES
*Is it hard to watch your toddler dump buckets of glitter? TOTALLY YES
*Is it worth it? 100% YES

Crafts allow your child to express their creativity while working on so many skills (that they have no idea they’re even doing).

Crafts are good for kiddos of all skill levels! Whether it’s tolerating glue / glitter on their hands… using scissors with assistance… discussing colors and shapes… requesting necessary supplies… bonding with their parent… engaging in a task… the list goes on!

It’s a WIN/ WIN! A win for the child to do something fun & a win for the parent to have something to tape up on the wall! (Disclaimer: The mess is not a win but it is so worth it 🙂)

Our Sensory Ninjas group is back by popular demand at our New Buffalo Clinic! The kids all had so much fun in this group over the summer and enjoyed working their muscles, exploring their senses & burning off lots of energy (what parent doesn't love that?!). The kiddos will also be able to explore our new rock wall which is *coming soon*!
