In celebration of National Skilled Nursing Care Week, staff and residents were served a meal comprising pulled pork, hot dogs, cherry cobbler, macaroni and cheese, and potato salad. We sincerely appreciate the dedicated efforts of our exceptional team at the facility, whose hard work and commitment significantly contribute to the well-being of our residents.

Happy National Skilled Nursing Care Week!

Larry Murphy enjoyed a leisurely afternoon in the residents' courtyard garden, planting new flowers for the upcoming year. Mr. Murphy is an avid gardening enthusiast and will tend to the flowers daily with the assistance of our dedicated staff. Also included in the photograph is Jeff, our Maintenance Assistant, who is preparing the soil to ensure the growth of a vibrant and beautiful garden.

Today, residents and staff alike kicked back in their cozies and embraced their playful side, running around in pajamas. After a delightful dinner, they’ll settle in for a fun-filled movie night, popcorn in hand, laughter echoing through the room.

In celebration of Nursing Skilled Nursing Care Week, staff members were served a delicious meal of walking tacos. Residents participated in various activity stations, including bowling, co****le, and lease stay tuned for the upcoming additional activities scheduled throughout the remainder of the week.

We would like to highlight our MDS Coordinator, Christine Childress, who has been a valued member of the Miller’s team for over 20 years. Additionally, Teresa serves as our Inservice Director and assists with new CNA classes. Lastly, Sierra, our Unit Manager, is also involved and collaborates with the wound care nurse.

As we kick off National Nurses Week, we want to recognize Diane Shoaf, our amazing Director of Nursing at Miller's Merry Manor - New Carlisle. She shared some insights about herself and her nursing journey. Diane mentioned that she has always had a passion for caring for others, influenced by her mother and siblings, who are also in the nursing profession.

She has been a part of Miller’s for 6 years and truly enjoys helping people. A significant accomplishment for Diane was earning her RN; while she initially aimed for her LPN, she ultimately decided to pursue her RN to challenge herself and prove that she could achieve it, despite the difficulties. Diane also emphasized the importance of family, cherishing time spent with her husband, Rodney, as well as their children and grandchildren.

Thank you, Diane, for all that you do!
