DON Services assists people with disabilities to live how and where they choose by providing Home and Community Based Services throughout Western Pennsylvania. We became a provider of Home and Community Based Services in May of 2005. We offer alternatives under the CommCare, Independence, OBRA, Attendant Care, Act 150 and PDA Waivers to individuals who choose to live in the community rather than in nursing homes or personal care facilities. Click here for more information on these and other waiver programs. It is our view that a consumer-directed approach to services is imperitive in maintaining your independence. The program allows an adult with a significant physical disability, as defined by the program, to retain the services of a personal attendant, and actually control his or her care. In 2015 and 2016 DON Services has grown and will home health services as well as home and community based services to people with IDD under PA's Consolidated and Adult Autism Waivers. DON Services's primary goals are: To provide meaningful services to the disabled community To establish a better quality of life for those who choose to participate regardless of the nature or severity of their disability To empower individuals to achieve self-sufficiency, independent living, inclusion and integration into all aspects of society DON Services is also associated with a Center for Independent Living. We are owned and operated by people with disabilities who live, work and play in the communities we serve. Being locally owned and operated by people that use personal assistant services, we understand the issues that affect our consumers, and we are committed to improving the lives of people with disabilities in the communities that we serve.
