Women, do you feel your Elvanse/Vyvanse wears off quickly? There’s a reason!!

Overall, women tend to metabolise Elvanse faster than men.

Absorption of Elvanse generally similar between men and women, but slight alterations in GI motility and blood flow, slightly influence the rate at which Elvanse enters the bloodstream in women.

Since women have less lean body mass per kg of body weight, the drug is distributed into a smaller water-rich volume in women, resulting in higher peak plasma concentrations and faster clearance.

Women have less drug exposure of Elvanse from the moment it enters our system to when it leaves due to how fast it’s absorbed and metabolised.

I’ll be doing a video on my theories on how to potentially manage this!

Honestly, it’s so frustrating trying to get help for ADHD sometimes. I am so grateful that they are departments out there that are able to help us but it’s really hard when you’re trying to ask for help for a condition and this conditions traits are stopping you from actually getting the help itself. I’ve got myself into a bit of a pickle as you can see🥲 and I feel like I only have myself to blame to blame. like everyone else i asked for help obviously did their own job but it’s my fault for leaving it so late and not doing what I needed to do. But it’s just hard when you can’t do what you need to do. So just a little rant and hopefully it will make everyone feel better because we’re all in the same boat. Please pray for me. I hope this exam tomorrow goes well.

Weird ADHD things that no one understands. We don’t even understand this stuff ourselves so pls don’t expect us to explain to you 😂

Who can guess all these questions right? It’s endometriosis awareness month so I thought I would do a little quiz with you all to see how much you actually know about this condition. Let me know how many you get right! It’s shocking to see some of these statistics and facts, and I really hope this video gets a lot of traffic as I really want to raise awareness about this significant condition. It’s not just painful periods, it’s debilitating pain that can affect nearly every day over a woman’s life. The mental, physical and social impact this condition is profound. Hopefully the more we raise awareness about this condition, The more women we can help. Please like and share!

ADHD is not fun, quirky or trendy to have. Stop making videos that have people think this condition is laughable. It’s serious, it’s debilitating and it can be unbearable.

The Adulting Games (ADHD Vs Neurotypical) - Round One: Morning Routine

Probably my favourite TikTok to date. Adulting is hard when you have ADHD and unless you have the condition yourself or live with someone who does, you’ll never understand the chaos our morning brings. From the moment we wake up it’s a series of unfortunate events and we’re frantically trying to handle every obstacle that comes our way.

Do you guys want to see more adulting games? Comment with some suggestions 😂🙏🏽

The best new years goal if you can relate - start being kinder to yourself. Stop comparing, celebrate your achievements no matter how small, learn to put more focus on your good than bad. I know you’re exhausted and trying you’re hardest, that’s more than enough.

It’s so great to see ADHD representation on TV and I have so much love for ! Every person with ADHD can see themselves in him. But despite the good, it’s hard hearing some of the negative comments from some camp mates and people online. People with ADHD hear this stuff all the time. If you have ADHD, notice those around you who are watching I’m a celebrity and love Sam on it. Surround yourself with those people. It’s so important to be around people who can see the good that comes with ADHD. Rather than the “too much” or “annoying”. Also McDermott letter to him was the sweetest 🥹 I hope he wins!

This show is called “daily dose of sunshine” and it’s on Netflix. I can’t recommend this show enough, I think it has to be one of my favourite series ever! It’s about a psych nurse and the journey she goes through. The particular scene hit HARD. After being discharged from a psych ward this nurse was met with so much stigma by the patient’s guardians when she returned to work. They were so harsh and judgemental towards her. Stating that how can someone who is unwell themself treat patients. This show brilliantly highlighted stigma that comes with mental health. And most importantly, how ANYONE can struggle with mental health, including the clinicians who treat you. Everyone is human at the end of the day and having a mental health condition doesn’t make you less than. In fact, battling struggles and recovering only makes you stronger and better to treat patients as you can really understand what they’re going through. As someone who has also personally has battled through her own mental struggles and works in mental health too, I felt so much watching this show. However I know my past experiences have made me a better clinician. If you haven’t watched the show, I urge you to watch this, so eye opening and really addresses some difficult societal issues in regards to mental health stigma.

It’s so important that we start pushing for mental health services to understand the importance of conditions like ADHD and autism. I come across so many patients who aren’t being given adequate treatment because either they have been misdiagnosed, or the ADHD/autism traits have not been properly understood. I don’t understand why these conditions are treated separately when they have a huge impact on each other. ADHD & autism aren’t mental health conditions, they are neurodevelopmental conditions and therefore are not treated and considered within mental health services and this is something which desperately needs to be changed. These two patient examples are literally just from one week and I feel so blessed to be in a position where I can help and identify these patients. But this leads me to wonder how many more of these patients there are and how much work needs to be done. If you work in mental health services, I urge you to raise awareness about these conditions and try to start implementing mandatory training on them because it’s so important. Would love your take on this Alex George | Health Expert
