A few application awards for bad behavior:
Fortnite and Roblox are the top two programs that trigger the most 911 calls. Kids often lose control when parents enforce limits and shut these games off. Fortnite is one of the un-pausible games which makes emotions run high if you “ruin” their game.
When it comes to sneaky and deceitful behavior to regain access, YouTube (for younger kids) and Snapchat are the platforms where kids are most likely to lie, cheat, and steal to feed their addictions to these platforms.
Snapchat and Roblox stand out as the platforms where predators are most frequently encountered.
On Discord, predators often blend in with their victims by sharing a common interest in gaming, making it easier for them to connect with and exploit kids.
TikTok seems to be one of the programs that can take the entire day away from teens and adults. The ease of scrolling makes this a time-killer and one that will rob your kids of the childhood memories they should be experiencing.
In the sleeper (hidden danger) category we have the Bible app and the Fitbit app. While I don’t believe these to be intentionally deceiving, they have more than a few predators that use them as hunting grounds to contact your kids.
These are just a few standouts from the many applications I see parents have to deal with on a daily basis.
Happy Parenting,
