One of my focuses this year is to dedicate time to my Self-Care all while being a great wife, mother, and educator. The only way I can kill it in those roles is if I take care of myself. One of the ways I practice Self-Care is by burning sage, practicing mindfulness through meditation, writing in my gratitude journal, and reading a daily devotional.
I do this each morning before I get my day started. This routine takes me about 20 minutes and really lays the foundation for an awesome day!
First I cleanse my space by burning sage while setting an Intention for my practice and what I want to get out of it. I use the app “Calm” for my daily meditation which are about 10 min long. Next, I do a morning reflection in my gratitude journal. Recording my focus and affirmation for the day, what I’m grateful for, what I’m excited about for the day, and how I’ll make space for gratitude for the day. Lastly I read a daily devotional out of “Uncommon Life” by Tony Dungy.
Each day I feel so driven, focused, and balanced when I’m able to start with this routine. A few mornings my practice has slipped, but I just give myself grace, and get back to it the next day.
In this space that we are living in, how are you giving yourself love? How are you making time for YOU? What are your Self-Care practices?
This year, as a health coach, I want to help you, my followers, as well as personal clients build up self love, and establish Self-Care practices that will fuel you in your day to day lives.
