LDH was rather deceptive with their response saying that PERH is "a standalone ER". The inpatient whom I admitted Wednesday evening and was still in the hospital during my interview is literally living proof that we are a hospital as well.
However, because of the very numbers that they are using to revoke our license, they are applying the mentality that the entire inpatient hospital aspect of our operation doesn't even exist.
I assure you that we are an inpatient hospital as well.
If you are admitting patients for inpatient stays in the hospital, then you are an inpatient hospital. I don't give a DAMN if LDH wants to say that the hospital "doesn't exist" because our patients got well too quickly to meet LDH's parameters to qualify as a person who was treated in a hospital.
Back in October, they extended our license until September 2024 to allow us to get to the magic number of 2.0 days as the average length of stay. October 2023 ours was 1.3 days.
In February 2024,they checked us and it was 1.9!
In the two months since February, our average has been right at THREE DAYS and "makes the cut" but they refused to even consider a look at the newest numbers. This all smells and looks like a fishy, politically motivated railroading. 70+ people will be without jobs, health insurance and security tomorrow night at 7pm.

BATON ROUGE - With only a few days to spare, doctors and staff at Prairieville ER and Hospital, also known as Prairieville Family Hospital, will have to find new jobs.
