Improving your gut health can sound really vague, and it is! Our gut microbiome is constantly in a state of creating balance, or homeostasis. Things like our nutrition, hydration status, sleep patterns, stress levels, etc can be helpful or harmful to our gut!

β˜† Fiber can help feed and diversify the good bacteria in your gut. It’s also great for keeping you regular πŸ™‚
β˜† Probiotics are live microorganisms and help to repopulate good bacteria and minimize the harmful bacteria
β˜† Adequate hydration keeps things going of course, and provides detoxifying properties by flushing out toxins
β˜† Chronic stress can cause high levels of cortisol & inflammation in the gut which can throw off the balance & can cause gut lining permeability
β˜† Diets high in processed foods can increase the destructive bacteria causing harmful chronic inflammation

πŸ”˜ Treat the root cause. There’s a time and place to treat symptoms, but most of the time if not emergent, it is important to figure out why those symptoms are happening. It’s our body telling us that something is off and often if the root cause is not addressed, the symptoms worsen over time.
πŸ”˜ The body can heal itself. Given the right conditions and push in the right direction, your body is capable of healing from injury and disease.
