It's Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Month

Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Month is observed in November each year. This month is dedicated to raising awareness about type 1 diabetes (T1D), an autoimmune disease where the body's immune system destroys the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas.

After being suddenly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 49 — a life-changing experience that nearly took my life — I became an advocate for T1D awareness. My mission is to dispel myths, educate others, and bring visibility to a condition often misunderstood.
