Project DIRECT

Project DIRECT Project DIRECT promotes high quality community-based mental health programming for young children and their families in New Orleans and nationally.

Our team works to bridge the gap between research and practice in order to ensure the most effective intervention and prevention programs are provided in underresourced community settings serving young children. As such, Project DIRECT works to actively close disparities in health and achievement. Our program has three interrelated goals:

Provide clinical services...our efforts locally help each child get the healthiest start possible. Conduct research...our findings improve the well-being of children and families in New Orleans and across the country. Train the next generation...our program provides opportunities for advanced training and professional development in child development, mental health, and early education.
