To the Gathering community, after much prayer and consideration, I have decided it is time to step away as the Director of our Counseling department once my maternity leave begins in a few short weeks. As some of you know, I am expecting my second child, and my hope is to spend more time on my title as 'mom' in the coming months and years. I plan to continue practicing counseling independently but in a smaller capacity, so I can dedicate more time to my family.

It is with a bittersweet heart that I announce this news, as I have been with the Gathering for almost eight years, six of them as your director. We have overcome many obstacles as a counseling department over the years, including hurricanes and tornadoes damaging our beloved building, a complete rebuild of the facility, and a pandemic changing the course of how we operated for years. Thank you all for your steadfast dedication to our clients during these difficult times, and thank you to our recent staff additions for stepping up to provide critical mental health services to our community. Each of you makes an impact on the lives of our clients, and it has been an honor getting to know each of you.

Thank you to our Gathering owners for trusting me to lead our counseling department, even after I made the move to Baton Rouge three years ago. This place is truly like family, making it even harder to say goodbye. I will be praying for the continued success of our counseling department and wish each of our counselors and clients the best in their journeys!
