SUCCESS!!! We, as part of the Louisiana Himalaya Association volunteer group for the Full Circle New Orleans to Nepal event not only met but exceeded our goal of raising $50,000 to return the favor to Nepal and match the $50,000 that Nepal gave to Lousiana after hurricane katrina!!! Last night's event was a huge success with a lot of very caring folks, a lot of hugs, cheers and a misty eye or two. I'd like to thank everyone that came out to show their support. And I am looking forward to meeting the person who bought our Thriving Wellness Reiki gift certificates!

"RECLAIMING THE HEART OF HUMANITY"
JOIN US IN AN INFORMAL DISCUSSION GROUP AT THE HOME OF KELLY LACROSSE aka THRIVING WELLNESS REIKI FOR THE GLOBAL LISTENING CAMPAIGN OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE WORLD'S RELIGIONS....
These are times of great trial and transformation across the globe. In an effort to better understand and shape world events in a positive way, I would like to invite you to participate in a discussion group for the Global Listening Campaign being conducted in preparation for the next Parliament of the World’s Religions, scheduled for Salt Lake City, October 2015.
The purpose of this international Listening Campaign is to discover the significant needs, challenges, concerns, and aspirations that will shape the significant topics to be addressed at the 2015 Parliament, as well as to lay the groundwork for ongoing initiatives emerging from the gathering.

The Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions would greatly appreciate our input and ideas. Therefore I would like to invite you to participate in a discussion group in which we will address the following issues from the perspective of our own communities:

*What is the place and role of religious and spiritual communities in the broader society?

*How can these communities contribute to a more socially cohesive society?

*How can these communities effectively join with other constituencies and guiding institutions in addressing the challenges facing the global community?

Our group’s involvement and conversation will help to provide a “snapshot” of the current state and role of religion and spirituality in the world so that the Parliament can more effectively address the critical issues that we face.
Your input and the group’s responses are for internal use only and will be held in the strictest confidence. You will not be quoted publicly unless we receive your explicit approval beforehand.

Our focus group will be lead by Yvette Autin Warren. Yvette Autin Warren is a local author and women's rights activist who will be attending this year's Parliament to the World's Religions as an Ambassador, and has generously offered to take our collective voices with her.

If possible, she would like to video those willing to talk on camera, as they explain their spiritual views and solutions they see to the earth's issues. She will collect and write about what she is told. Anonymity can be preserved, if desired.

I would like, in my capacity as ambassador to the World's Religions, to bring as many voices to them as possible. The parliament is held only once every five years. The 2015 parliament is focusing on indigenous spirituality and women. I see this an huge opportunity.

I will listen in safe groups and take back what is said by women and men about spirituality and our shared earth. I continue to have hope that all on our shared earth will see that we share a sacred eternal, universal energy. I am hoping that, in listening enough, I will hear this harmonious voice, and will be able to suggest that religious leaders listen for it, instead of preaching.
I am the author of several books based on my ability to listen and report in the voices that I have heard.

I am also an official "listener" for World Pulse, an organization that protects and promotes the voices of women in 190 countries.
It is time for the theologians to listen to the people on the ground about how religion can help create peace on earth. Ideally, women and men of spirit and faith will attend the parliament with me. For those who cannot attend, I would like to listen to what women and men of different spiritual beliefs and practices define as sacred in their own lives. These discussions, I will take to the parliament with me.
I am here to listen and report, if you would like to add your voice to this important discussion."

We are looking for fresh voices on where you see the sacred. This is the first time in the 123 year history of the Parliament that there is a designated "women's initiative" and another for indigenous spiritual practices! Your input is valued and will contribute to helping to lay the groundwork for ongoing initiatives emerging from the gathering.
