The Parenting Center at Children's Hospital We offer classes, advice by phone, and resources to parents of toddlers to teens.

The Parenting Center, a department of Manning Family Children’s, is dedicated to helping parents and grandparents deal with the ordinary challenges of raising children. The Parenting Center at Children's hospital helps parents and grandparents develop competence and confidence and offers practical parenting suggestions to help with the ordinary stresses of raising children. The staff of parent educators include clinical social workers, an early childhood educator and a registered nurse who help families grow from birth to adolescence. The Parenting Center provides classes, book & video lending libraries, playrooms in two locations, Uptown (with play yard) and Metairie.

Are you busy Monday-Fridays, but interested in checking out our play space? This spring, we're open on the third Saturday of every month. Stop by next Saturday, January 17 from 10am-Noon. 🎉 Celebrating 45 Years! 🎉 Founded as a partnership between the Junior League of New Orleans and Children’s Hospital, The Parenting Center began as a small program in 1980 and has grown into a trusted community resource.

Between 2023-2025 alone, we’ve had:
✨ 4,705 parent visits to the playroom
✨ 1,872 class attendees
✨ 624 visits to our Snuggles & Struggles group
✨ 230 car seat safety checks completed
