The day was filled with joy, reflection, and delicious traditions like red velvet cake and hibiscus tea!

We were also thrilled to have ROOTED Cultural Experiences share their talents with a special performance and teach our team members how to play traditional African drums and traditional African dances.

Medical students, and other members of the medical community, had a wonderful evening learning about the rich history of medicine in New Orleans, the importance of Juneteenth, and honoring the Black doctors who paved the way for future generations.
