This patient has been suffering for years with severe back and leg pain with numbness of her legs into her feet. She has had weakness in her legs with difficulty walking and standing or sitting for any period of time. She also received repeated injections with no lasting relief.

NOW…Immediately post op this patient could feel her feet for the first time in years and the leg pain resolved on the 5th day after surgery while recovering at home.

Successful Surgery with Mobi-C Cervical Disc at Two-levels Allows Patient to Maintain Neck Motion

New Orleans, LA (June 21, 2018) – Dr. Alexis Waguespack of Spinecare Medical Group announced today that she has performed a two-level cervical disc replacement procedure utilizing an innovative medical device. Mobi-C® Cervical Disc replaces diseased discs in the neck and is designed to maintain motion. Traditionally, the same patient would have received a fusion. Fusion surgery, while also replacing diseased discs in the neck, is designed to stop movement at the operated levels.
After a rigorous Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clinical trial, Mobi-C received approval in 2013, making it the first cervical disc approved for use at both one and two-levels. In October 2015, the FDA approved the 5-year clinical results, confirming Mobi-C at two-levels demonstrated SUPERIORITY over fusion based on overall study success. Results at 5 years found Mobi-C at one-level to be statistically non-inferior or equivalent to fusion in terms of overall study success. Those patients who received two-level cervical disc replacement during the trial returned to work on average three weeks earlier as compared to the fusion patients. At 5 years, the Mobi-C patients also had lower rates of subsequent surgeries and reduced rates of ongoing degeneration at spinal segments adjacent to the surgery compared to fusion.

Here's Deena our X-Ray tech and Mr. Sip! Mr. and Mrs. Sip were gracious enough to donate all of these toys to make sure the children at Children's Hospital will have a Merry Christmas. Donations are still being accepted. You can still make child's Christmas joyous and cheerful. Last date to drop off a toy is December 14, 2016. Thank you!!!
