Our Story
Savhera is a new kind of essential oil brand that provides dignified jobs to s*x trafficking survivors. All of Savhera’s oils are 100% certified organic, pure, and therapeutic grade. They provide you with the highest quality oils while also making a lasting impact in the lives of s*xually exploited women. So where did this journey begin?
Since 2014, Dr. Vanessa Bouché, a professor of political science at Texas Christian University and a global human trafficking scholar, has been leading a study abroad on transnational human trafficking in Delhi, India where students visit Garstin Bastion Road (GB Road), the largest red light district.
In 2017, Dr. Bouché and her students were challenged during their interactions with one of the trafficked women at the medical clinic on GB Road. She asked: “Why should I share my story with you? Time and again people like you come to record our stories for your own benefit. But what about us? Our situation remains the same. You are exploiting us for our stories.”
When asked what she desired, she exclaimed: “I need dignified employment to get out of this dirty business!” Her proclamation expressed her human right to respect, self-determination, and personhood in the eyes of society.
