Yoga is so much more than stretching the body. It’s a practice that supports the mind, steadies the breath, and creates space to slow down in a busy world.

When you start a yoga practice and stay with it, you may begin to notice subtle shifts. A little more strength. A little more flexibility. Better sleep. Calmer thoughts. A deeper connection with yourself.

Spring always feels like a season of renewal. The days are getting longer, flowers are starting to bloom, and many of us will be gathering with family and friends this weekend.

It’s a beautiful time to slow down, take a breath, and reconnect with your body.

Yoga is a simple way to reset, whether you’re easing into gentle movement or flowing through a vinyasa practice. All levels are welcome, and classes are always relaxed and supportive.

Spring is officially here 🌿✨
A season of renewal, fresh energy, and new beginnings, and a gentle reminder that it’s okay to shift, soften, and go with the flow.

My schedule looks a little different this week as I’ll be out of town for a few days with my kids for spring break 💛

Here’s what to expect:
• Tuesday: Gentle Yoga at Cumberland Town Hall will be utilizing an on-demand session from the Sound Soul library
• Thursday: Join us for our Spring Renewal: Gentle Yoga & Sound Meditation 🌸

Spring arrives this weekend… and yet, here we are with snow ❄️

This simple movement does a lot for the body.

We begin in a wide-legged stance, then hinge forward until the spine is parallel to the mat. From there, we reach the arms forward and sweep them back toward the hips a few times, activating the upper back and opening through the chest and shoulders.

Next we keep the spine long and flow side to side, maintaining that strong hinge while the arms continue to move with the body.

✨ Benefits of this flow:
• Strengthens the upper back and posterior chain
• Opens the chest and shoulders (great if you sit or work at a computer)
• Encourages spinal length and stability
• Builds body awareness and coordination
• Gently warms up the hamstrings and hips

We’re in the middle of a seasonal shift. 🌿

March is the bridge between winter and spring… and with daylight savings beginning, we’re literally stepping into more light.

This time of year can feel a little disorienting for the body and mind. Our rhythms change, the days stretch longer, and nature slowly begins to wake up again. It’s the perfect time to stay connected to your yoga practice, to ground yourself while everything around you is shifting.

Yoga helps us move with the seasons instead of resisting them.
To wake the body gently.
To breathe deeper.
To create a little space and balance as life speeds up again.

Sometimes the most powerful part of the practice is the very beginning.

This clip is a little glimpse into our Tuesday Night Flow from Home on Zoom, where we take time to gently wake up the body before building heat.

We start in tabletop with a few rounds of Cat/Cow to open the spine and connect with the breath. From there we move into slow barrel rolls, exploring movement in both directions and inviting a little more space through the back and ribs.

Then we tuck the toes and shift the hips toward the heels, stretching into the feet and ankles, a place that often doesn’t get much love.

From that same tabletop base we begin to reach one arm forward while the hips glide back, alternating sides to open the shoulders and lengthen through the sides of the body. Finally, we bring the shoulders forward in line with the fingertips and gently rock forward and back to warm up the wrists.

Simple movements, but incredibly effective for preparing the body for practice.
