Ayva Lynn is the sweetest, happiest, charismatic, now 5-year-old, with her 5th birthday having been on May 16th. We have recently been told she will be outgrowing her wheelchair soon and will need a newer, larger one. Ayva's family currently only has a sedan and they will be unable to transport the wheelchair anywhere without getting their own accessible van. We are asking anyone in the community to help them get what they need so that Ayva can continue going to not only her doctor appointments, but also so she can continue to go outside and enjoy life. Ayva is completely blind, deaf, and has a cleft lip and palate. She is extremely medically needy and her mom (my best friend) is her full-time caregiver along with her dad, while also still managing to find time for work and all the other things that life comes with. Thank you for taking the time to read and donate. We appreciate everyone's help in any way that you can. ❤️
Ayva recently had some modifications done to her wheelchair and we were told that it’s at the highest height possible now. So the next step is getting a new one within the next 6 to 9 months. Her mom, Alexi, currently drive a sedan and would not have any possible way to fit a larger wheelchair in her current car.
To get into a little more detail about Ayva's medical conditions, she is completely blind. She has two prosthetic eyes so that means she doesn’t even have light perception. She is also hearing impaired, has a cleft lip and palate, and some other craniofacial abnormalities. Ayva has beaten the odds and does 100000x more things than was ever expected of her. At birth they said she wouldn’t even grow on her own. Today, almost 5 years old she has not only grown to be a big tall girl, but she’s taking steps, communicating, and enjoying everyday life. Ayva has several doctors and therapy appointments that she attends weekly. We do swimming 2x a week, music and equine therapy weekly aswell. Ayva has at minimum one doctors appointment a month but sometimes up to 3. She also regularly has surgeries and we are always driving far distances to get to different surgeons and hospitals. Her furthest doctor is 3 hours away. Having a van that can fit her wheelchair, and even eventually have a wheelchair lift added would be life changing for her and her family. They also have a second younger daughter, Willow that is still in a car seat as well. Ayva and Willow will be able to be in their car seats comfortably, while also having Ayva's new wheelchair in the car.
All of the money will go towards paying for a new Toyota Sienna and unfortunately her family cannot afford a car payment so they need to he able to buy it outright, which is anywhere between $35-50,000. We've set the goal to center that price range, being $40,000.
Thank you all so much for your love and support! It means the world to Ayva Lynn and her family.
