I have always known I wanted to help people. It is in my bones to be of service to others. I began my studies as an Emergency medical technician in my 20s and realized my infatuation with the function of the human body. Not only did I want to help people but I wanted to help preserve the body and self. Well as my husband was serving in the Iraq war I had to take a job less demanding so I can mother my two children at the time. those 12 hr shifts as an EMT and a husband in a war zone made that career choice a bit hard on me at the time.
fast forward a few years later, my husband is home & life is good. We became pregnant with our third child. Now in my 30s and the heaviest I have ever been, I knew I needed a change. I started hitting the gym, eating “chicken broccoli & rice” and #nodaysoff. during this time my father fell ill and find himself in the hospital. the prognoses was not good. syndrome X. Diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol. I knew then and there I wanted to help people before they got to the hospital. I wanted to help people change their prognosis, how ever grim. I wanted to help them care for their bodies.
I started school and finished with my National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Training certification. I LOVE training clients. seeing them light up feeds my soul! after being a trainer for a few years I realized something was missing. My weight was fluctuating, not budging at some points. I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. I have come to be diagnosed with PMDD & PCOS. Both have no cure and lifestyle change is the biggest factor in management of the severe symptoms. At this point I decided to go back to school to become a nutritionist! heal the body from the inside out.
fast forward again to my mid 30s and I am happier, healthier and lighter than I have ever been in my entire life. Diet was the missing figure to my equation. With this new found body and management under control with my lmdd & pros. With healing my body came a very spiritual experience. Through yoga, nutrition, meditation and my mind body coach training, my mental, emotional and spiritual states became so inline with my higher self I feel like I am floating some days. like I am always in the right place at the right time. I can not describe the freedom that comes with balance of the person as a whole. a joyful experience in ones body and life.
