Not a fan of cold plunging?
Try just doing your feet!
Cold plunging just the feet in a river or stream is a powerful way to soothe excess Pitta and cool the fire element in the body. In Ayurveda, the feet are not only energetically grounding, they are also linked to the fire element, making them a potent site for releasing heat.
Immersing them in cold, natural water draws that heat downward and out, helping to calm inflammation, irritability, and mental overdrive.
This practice also connects you to the earth and water elements- both essential for balancing Pitta’s fire and intensity- offering a quick, accessible reset that refreshes body and mind.
If you hate swimming in cold water and you’d rather have a root canal than try a cold plunge, I SEE YOU. I HEAR YOU! But if you are suffering in this intense heat, trust me… it will soothe your Pitta and not disturb your Vata .
