Happy Thanksgiving wishes to you all ❣️🦃❣️

I haven’t posted in a while but feeling very grateful for such a sweet break from regular routines of my little cocoon to welcome the Tomasic clan & friends for Thanksgiving celebrations.

The highlight of my day was a treasured phone call w my Uncle Greg who we nearly lost this year. The ripples of our conversation are a stir in my heart. ❤️

Thinking about what matters & holding my people tight today. Love really does matter.

This morning amidst so much sadness in our country, I feel moved to share this stunning ray of hope that I watched the other night. This is a documentary produced by Selena Gomez and Stacey Abrams, directed by Kristi Jacobson. It’s an inspirational experience of the history of female singer / songwriters using their music to promote change, rebellion, and to honor their truths.

Watching it, I felt inspired and hopeful by an expansive perspective. I am holding onto a quote that I cannot find by Melissa Ethridge who acknowledges that real change takes time. It may seem simple but it’s now an arrow lodged in my heart and I will carry it.

I thank the women who have come before me and us. For the trails blaized that I get to benefit from. You have been a part of shaping my world and so much of what’s joyful, beautiful, deep, rich and good. Thank you. ❤️

Thanks so much for the happy birthday wishes & texts❣️It’s my cool b day date of 1.25.25!

Yesterday was an early rise to conduct analysis of covariance, ANCOVA…done around 1:00 & then freedom w my hubbie, a walk down to the ocean (the pic), & an amazing dinner.

Hanging now w family for Sunday celebrations & no work for me today❣️
I may also have a disco ball piñata! 🪩

So many feelings about all that’s happening in LA. It’s admittedly also very strange to be safe while so many, so nearby, have lost so much.

As the smoke diminishes & we all hope for maintained containment & no new embers, I’ve been grounding into gratitude…

Thank you to everyone who has reached out & apologies for the delayed update. Our family is all fine & we are so very lucky to be just south along the coast of the LA fires. While I feel very safe, our ocean city is in serious distress to say the least. Everyone is on high alert as fires continue to burst forth.

We’ve taken in 3 friends & family members & expected two more last night who were able to remain home amidst the sunset fire which is still not contained.

I feel awe in the face of something so fierce that feels apocalyptic & renders us so very vulnerable. With gratitude I marvel at how dependent we are on one another. I cannot stop thinking about all those who are putting themselves in harms way to help others & save our city. Thank you. ❤️

One door opens...
Wanted to share with y’all the exciting news that I’ve started a PhD program! I never thought I’d return to school after my MSc in Psychology of Coercive Control. However, as I’ve entered into expert witness work...primarily in our family court system, it’s been a world of challenges and bewilderment...amidst some amazing colleague support, thank goodness. I feel such passion about supporting women, victims, survivors and thrivers of coercive control in all the arenas. And...my knowledge about our legal system and policy making could most definitely be improved.

I’m now in week 5 of my Forensic Psychology degree with a specialty in forensic victimology! The university is Alliant, based out of San Diego, and the program is Psychology, Policy & Law. I’m already slightly shocked at how applicable the information has been alongside the quality of what I’m integrating and receiving. I feel inspired every day.

I also feel beyond ready to help with change and look forward to what might come.

I’ll also be offering a weekly ‘somatic reconnection’ practice (based on my certification as an integrative trauma practitioner) in hopes of staying connected to the wider world of humans out there. ✨💛✨
