Addiction is a blessing and a curse.

If there is a way to harness the impulses or find something positive in life that you can be addicted to, it is a great asset to have.

No one ever saw an unsuccessful work-a-holic or someone that was completely obsessed with perfecting their craft and said TRULY had a problem with it…. But it did bother them a little.

That HEIGHTENED vibration that perfection requires is HUGE in a room with a focused individual or an addicted person… you can FEEL IT!

These obsessed people are in fact addicted to what the activity at hand is.

The problems arise when we start delving into how this addiction or obsession can affect the lives of people around us negatively.

The LOVE that is denied to YOUR FAMILY and YOUR PEOPLE because of YOUR BEHAVIOR is the ONLY TIME WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT!

Quite often addictive people who have overcome a physical dependence on a substance now have the EXACT SAME ADDICTIVE TRAITS but are implementing them in positive ways.

Some positive and negative addictions: a work-a-holic, family life, going out, picking up women/men, going to the gym (this happens a lot with recovered people), money addict, video games, shopping, SOCIAL MEDIA, pornography…. The list goes on.

If you have a problem or someone you know does reach out and get help!

If you need it or MAN UP and STOP whatever negative things you are doing and GET HOOKED ON POSITIVITY!

And if you can't, get help!

That's a real quote with some real TRUTH to it.

Personally t his hits home for me as someone who has dealt with addictive personality traits, friends that exhibit them, and the destruction and sorrow it causes to YOUR PEOPLE from it.

Short and simple…

Is that surgery, the un necessary cosmetic surgery REALLY necessary?

In some circumstances it is in my opinion

Excess skin that causes real issues with life, obesity that is lethal and requires weight loss surgery…

Or possibly something less invasive and more elective that provides better quality of life like what Wellness Bodybuilder Odalis Santos Mena had done

Unfortunately this decision ended her life, and all over a surgery to eliminate sweating

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes excessive sweating for some people. Its very uncomfortable and embarrassing

She appears to have been on some supplements at the time of death which could be partly the cause… or the complete cause, the investigation is underway

2 takeaways from this, and 100% nailed them on the head

1) Is it really worth possibly losing your life for surgery? And if you choose this route, is it worth going somewhere much cheaper and possibly less experienced and/or qualified to do it?

2) If you ever do.. EVER have ANY SURGERY make sure you SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND CONFIDE IN EVERYTHING YOU ARE TAKING!

This incident hits close to home for me as well, as I personally lost a family member to anesthesia…

You’ll appreciate it in the long run.

Not being goal oriented is a problem in life and the gym

For instance, you don't want to do anything but squats, deadlifts, and bench presses if your goal is to be as flexible as possible and do a split now is it?

So figure out what you want and start training for it as soon as possible

Sitting around all day today and in a completely different mindset then I wanted to be in.

Constantly drifting, no focus, in a brain fog…

Getting back on track… we all slip up or fall off sometimes but getting back to it is the most important thing!

The SIMPLEST stuff can throw you off!

Holiday weekend and it's BBQ season all across the country.

You have one hotdog… JUST ONE! And remember how good it is.

Probably been “dieting” wrong, that's the NUMBER ONE problem here if this actually happens and it's how you feel.

ONE HOTDOG IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO WRITE OFF YOUR GOALS!

Just like one beer isn't a reason to become an alcoholic again, one hotdog, or piece of cake, or whatever “trigger” food could throw you off the rails again if you have eating problems.

That should NOT BE THE CASE! Unfortunately we all have to eat, unlike drinking or drugs, so you have to learn to have control otherwise you’ll always be overweight and outta control!!

Another scenario: You skipped the gym today because you didn't feel like it, and you feel guilty for it.

THAT GUILT IS YOUR GUIDELINE! REGRET IS YOUR GUIDELINE!

2 things:
YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE SKIPPED YOUR WORKOUT OR GYM ROUTINE
YOU SHOULDN'T LET IT AFFECT YOU SO MUCH THAT YOU FAIL

Get back up and go again, make up for it when you get free time over the weekend if you go during the week.

There are ways, stay committed.

Variance in your daily tasks happen, mistakes happen, life happens… LET IT HAPPEN.

Learn from it, correct, move forward and become STRONGER THROUGH THE ADVERSITY!

DON'T OVER TIGHTEN THE GOD DAMN BELT!

Dude… I can't even explain how many times I’ve seen people legit squeeze their torso into the belt and then cinch it down to a point where it's tough to breathe.

And don't tell me it's not… I CAN SEE YOUR DAMN RIBS PUSHING OUT!

So of course, LEGEND IN HIS OWN TIME SQUAT UNIVERSITY DOC TO THE RESCUE!

Explanation of how it increases trunk strength for your torso is spot on, like everything else from the Doc always is. (Slight man crush)

I’d be lying if I said I wore it wrong for a while. First few times I WAS THAT GUY squishing myself with it.

How exactly do you build muscle?

The body constantly is trying to balance itself out… all day long it's either in a catabolic or anabolic state.

The variance between these states ends up with a net average effect on the body which is why we don't lose or gain muscle without stimulation from external sources for whichever we are trying to achieve… ie. working out or doing nothing but laying in bed.

When you’re healthy the cycle is fairly stable.

When unhealthy/overweight or old and lethargic it begins to destabilize and results in less muscle growth and an increase in retaining fat.

When muscle is stimulated properly through hypertrophy protein synthesis occurs to build more muscle as long as the building blocks for muscle growth are there and available.

Protein, amino acids, and proper hormones are among the primary building blocks required.

An increase of protein BY ITSELF will stimulate more muscle growth.

Recommended intake is 20g per meal/shake/snack. The body cannot digest and process more than that and use it for protein synthesis.

Studies showing 40g of protein results in almost equivalent levels of protein synthesis.

So no need to bro out, get that 20g (maybe 30g if you’re a real man and want a little extra padding)

Pain vs Pleasure

We associate Pain with negativity and Pleasure with positivity.

Where do we derive these feelings from? It is not your head although many think it is.

We derive these feelings from inside, from our gut.

How do you change your state of mind? You need to change your outlook, one of pain to pleasure. One of negativity, to positivity.

This can be done quickly or slowly, but regardless of how fast it is done is upon you and you alone.

Why does the proverbial “switch” go off? For some reason something in your guy is telling you something is extremely painful, or extremely pleasurable. And we chase that feeling relentlessly, blindly, and with passion.

How quickly the change occurs is relative to how pleasurable or painful the circumstance is to YOU, nobody else.

Some people can be told they are going to die in 48 hours and that is not enough pain for them to do whatever they need to do to survive.

Others can be offered a Million dollars, and they still can't jump out of a perfectly good airplane.

Unable to change their mindset, regardless of how painful or pleasurable it is to you doesn't matter.

ALL THAT MATTERS IS HOW THAT SPECIFIC PERSON FEELS AND PERCEIVES THE MATTER, ACTION, STATEMENT, CONSEQUENCE, REWARD, OR WHATEVER IT IS AT THAT SPECIFIC MOMENT IN TIME!

That's all that you need to cause change. For it to be pleasurable or painful enough at that moment and BOOM!

Change has occurred.

Master this art and you can change anything in your life at any moment. All it takes is believing it can be done and knowing that the end result will bring you enough pain or pleasure so that you will have the DRIVE TO GET IT DONE.

Binge eater? Then intermittent fasting might be the best alternative for you!

Much MUCH more successful than a Ketosis based diet (simultaneously you can do Keto if you so desire)

As a binge eater you eat a lot of food in an almost out of control fashion.

With fasting you can basically binge for a few hours everyday to fulfill that craving and then not eat again till the next day.

The 2 things that YOU need to do to have success with fasting are:

Eat high quality balanced diets (not all calories are created equal)

And eat in a deficit still.

Instead of spreading it out all throughout the day and feeling a little hungry all day long you’ll have a late breakfast, normal lunch, and then a regular dinner.

During that time you eat all the stuff you LOVE to eat!

Just maintain your caloric intake requirements, and DON'T eat anything but Donuts and chocolate.

YOU STILL GOTTA BE HEALTHY!

After dinner pack it in till tomorrow morning breakfast time, rinse and repeat the process.

Testosterone, the basis for being a MAN!

As good as it is for building muscle it's even more important just for daily health.

With low testosterone you’ll feel lethargic, less s*xual, less enthusiastic, less focused, more prone to gaining fat as well as how you carry the fat (more fat in the area around the breasts is a prime example)

Depression can also be a side effect of low T.

If you are having these symptoms, are overweight, or are just getting older (especially over 40) your levels are quite possibly low or beginning to lower.

Older men over the age of 40 begin to reduce testosterone production exponentially faster then in there youth.

This doesn't mean you can't still build muscle after 40!

It just means you need to work harder at it.

Hormone or Testosterone replacement therapy (HRT/TRT) is NOT always the best way.

If you have nothing wrong, make sure you consult an endocrinologist if you’re considering therapy!

NOT ALL HRT CLINICS HAVE PROPER KNOWLEDGE! DO THE RESEARCH!

There are some natural ways to boost your Testosterone as well!

And last but not least, s*x drive! You wanna please your spouse like you’re 18 again (or maybe she was lucky and missed the reign of terror you would unleash LOL)

Getting your levels optimized will 1000% help with your labido and erectile dysfunction if you unfortunately suffer from it.

To be Iconic you can't just focus on one thing, you need to focus on several as a life coach. Your Mental Health can make or break you.

Dealing with depression, poor self image, poor self esteem derived from a poor self image, PTSD are all problems people deal with daily.

Addiction can be and is one of the biggest problems derived from depression, a poor self image and/or PTSD as well as other problems in life.

Finally addressing these problems can be tough and with time already wasted there is no reason to waste anymore.

Solving the problems is relatively simple but long term can be difficult without true change and guidance.

Sometimes we don't even know we have some of these problems as well, such as a food addiction. Coming to terms with the reality of this is tough. And making up for lost time can feel impossible.

The last thing anyone wants to do is waste more time…. having proper guidance when trying to figure out everything is a tremendous help.

This will help to be efficient with time as best as possible and make up for the lost ground quickly.
