At 6pm today Mr. Brett A. Scudder will be a guest panelist on New York State Senator Jamaal T. Bailey's Mental Health and Su***de Awareness Forum at the Northeast Bronx YMCA and virtual. An important and needed discussion for National Su***de Prevention Month. Share and join to learn more.

Thank You,

~SISFI

Humbled and honored to join this esteemed panel to bring awareness to the emotional pain, life challenges and trauma that leads to su***de and my knowledge and experiences of how to address it from my work at the Scudder Intervention Services Foundation Inc 'SISFI', The Su***de Institute and The Su***de Council. Since the pandemic, our su***de caseload has increased over 700 percent and doesn’t seem to be going down any time soon. We’re seeing more children between 4-10y/o with suicidality and is this a very serious concern on every level of our society. There aren’t enough healthcare and mental health services or practitioners to meet this unprecedented rise in emotional pain and suicidality and it will require communities to step up and create safe places and resources for people in crisis. This isn’t a clinical crisis, it’s a pain crisis that needs humane support and services to effectively meet it.

We cannot deny nor look away from this hard reality and how critically important it is to face it now with real effective solutions. This is a serious public health crisis. Sincere gratitude to Senator Jamaal T. Bailey for raising the issue, having the conversation, and allowing me to be part of it. Looking forward to it.

Description: In honor of National Su***de Prevention Month, New York State Senator Jamaal T. Bailey will be hosting an in-person/virtual conversation about mental health awareness to share personal experiences, provide resources and information, and learn how we can better support our community and young people with mental health. Join us in a critical discussion to destigmatize the public perception of su***de and the struggles that may come with mental health.

In-person at the Northeast Bronx YMCA or virtually via Zoom.

Really looking forward to it.

G'day, how are you?
The Scudder Intervention Services Foundation Inc 'SISFI', The Su***de Institute and The Su***de Center invites you to our virtual "Pain Management Forum" today at 1pm hosted and moderated by our Behavioral Health and Wellness Director, and Crisis Response Director/Trainer Mr. Brett A. Scudder which will be addressing lived experiences of physical and psychological pains, realities of severity of emotional pain versus physical, pain from different types of trauma, how mental health causes different types and levels of pain, how the and overdose crises are really pain crisis, and how to manage, find hope in deepest abyss of pain, live happily in pain, treatment models, healing, transformation of pain to purpose and transcendence.

We have some amazing guests Ms. Arleen Spears, Ms. Karen Hampson, Mr. Alexandrae Wint and Mr. Raymond Ramos who will share their experiences with various kinds of pain, how pain affected their overall health and wellness and caused su***de ideations, and if/how they healed and recovered from it. We thank them for accepting the call to be transparent so we can learn these hard true realities so many of us are living, surviving, struggling, and suffering with/in. The best and most effective way to solve and address these crises is by listening and understanding lived and living experiences and their needs.

So many of us are living in pain, controlled by pain, disabled by pain and desperately trying to survive the pain we are in often by ourselves. The Scudder Intervention Services Foundation Inc, The Su***de Institute and The Su***de Center are elated to bring this awareness and invite you to join the effort. Please share with your networks and RSVP at sisfi.eventbrite.com. We look forward to having you with us. Take care, and be well.

~SISFI

The Scudder Intervention Services Foundation, Inc. ‘SISFI’, The Su***de Institute and The Su***de Center invite you to our "Pain Management Forum: “Experiences of Understanding, Healing, Treatment, Recovery and Transformation from Physical and Psychological Pains” to address the silent and faceless enigmas of pain permeating society causing heightened and increasing addiction, anxiety, depression, loneliness, isolation, and PTSD with solutions and resource. When you hear talk about the opioid and mental health crises we’re seeing across the US, we need to understand the underlying factors of pain and how the use of substances and alcohol are used to suppress and manage it which often leads to overdose deaths. So many beautiful people are living in, suffering with, suffering from, and dying in pain in ways we can’t imagine nor recognize often because they either mask it or have learned to numb it enough to function. So many are unable to mask or numb the pain and so they talk about it in seeking help or getting support needed. When we look at how the healthcare systems assesses, recognizes, treats, or prevents pain we, those experiencing it, are often not in agreement with the methods and must find other ways of treating and managing. We are living in and experiencing a very serious pain crisis and it needs to be talked about openly, candidly, and publicly for awareness and edification across our society. The crisis is pervasive and will take much relearning and retraining to meet people effectively and meaningfully where they are to reduce and prevent further suffering and deaths.

In 2021, 2561 acute su***de ideation cases we prevented from completion at the foundation and institute which speaks volume of the effectiveness and impacts of our work in understanding, treating, and healing physical and psychological pains. This is mainly because our President and CEO Mr. Brett A. Scudder has lived a life of pain, head injuries, near death experiences, traumas, su***de attempt and subsequent PTSD on many levels and even after going into healthcare systems for treatment was left still suffering and struggling and so he created the organizations to help, support, treat, educate, heal, and transform pain into passion, purpose, and healthier lifestyles for people. Through his experiences and extensive research on himself and people he serves every day at the organizations and our 24/7 crisis lifeline, he created our Emotional Pain Informed Care and Su***de Informed Care modalities to meet the needs effectively and train people as acute crisis responders. That’s what drives thousands of people tour services because of his public speaking of awareness of lived and living experiences with pain every day and many events.

The unfortunate and painful death of Ms. Cheslie Kryst on January 30th 2022 has once again thrust us into many discussions about emotional pain, bullying, depression and su***de, and again shows how much and little we are unaware of the reality many of us are living in and feeling. There are so many people completing su***de to end their pain and suffering because we’re not understanding or have normalized conversations about it for them to feel safe opening up or have safe places to open up, share and connect. There’s so much to learn about the real trauma and ensuing PTSD crisis of Covid-19 and the pandemic that I could go on and on about from what we have seen in over 500% in our workload at SISFI and the Su***de Institute since it began that we’ll be addressing with our amazing guest speakers, so join us, and be empowered and made aware of language and behaviors that could save your life or a loved one.

Our sincere gratitude to our guest speakers for accepting the invite to be vulnerable in strength of talking about their pain experiences. We’re looking forward to a great time together.

Thank you very much and have a great day one breath at a time with an attitude of humility and gratitude embracing positive energy and enlightenment to improve your quality of life and overall health and wellness. We apprecilove your patronage and look forward to serving you with more quality humane, health, psychological and emotional programs, services, and resources. One Love.

Here's a much more realistic look at the real impacts of Pandemic deaths that have not been paid attention to or factored it. Yes, so many deaths are correlated to the pandemic and must also be considered in the impacts and the associated pains, grief and trauma. This is one of the reasons why we talk so much about the growing of the pandemic in the Post-Covid era. Frightening realities. We need to be ready to face the PTSD.

On paper, 900,000 Americans have died from covid-19—but excess death tracking tells a different story.

Good day beautiful people, how are you holding up?
As we wrap up this Winter Wellness Week, we are truly humbled by the lives met and touched and looking ahead, we recognize the enormity of the pain and suffering many people are facing, struggling with, suffering and dying from. Let's extend blessings, light, positive enlightenment, hope and healing through Unconditional Nonjudgmental Love as you never know who is in need of it.

For those of us spending Christmas alone, know this. It's OK to spend Christmas alone whether by choice or just a bad 🤬 circumstance put you in it. Breathe, relax, don't stress it. You are OK. Just breathe. The day will pass quickly if you find things you enjoy doing and think less about it. Many of us are home alone and just need to know and understand it's OK. Only God knows why and you don't need to explain or validate to anyone. Cheers. Love and Light from a distance.

It's holiday season with people needing Love, light, hope, positive enlightenment and cheer as we face realities of our lives and staying safe and well. Here's a great book to spend time with self or family to embrace or overcome the season by learning of and about people's experiences and challenges. We often think we are alone in our challenges and pain but more often than not we share so many similarities with each other unknowingly. Please share and support the Ms. Nichole Campbell as she's her work to bring more life into the season. Take a read and share so others can benefit from it.

Congratulations Ms. Campbell. Looking forward to seeing more from you. Keep writing and inspiring.

Greetings beautiful people, how are you?
Humbled to hosts and present today's virtual Health and Wellness Luncheon at the Scudder Intervention Services Foundation, Inc. 'SISFI’ and The Su***de Institute on “Emotional Males Chronicles: “Facing Our Pain, and Finding Hope and Strength Through Vulnerability, and Embracing/Expressing Emotions for Healthy and Safe Lifestyle” 12pm-1pm to bring light to the societal challenges, stigmas and stereotyping of male emotions. Since the pandemic we have seen significant increase in males suffering and struggling with emotional impacts and crying for help in all kinds of ways and places. This is a very serious State of Wellness we must put more focus and attention on to destigmatize, normalize, empathize and humanize male's expressions and experiences of emotions so we can help them manage associated behaviors. I'll address and ***de behaviors. Bring your lunch and join us as we share this moment of edification and understanding these very real and important things for males in our lives and communities. We look forward to having you. RSVP at sisfi.eventbrite.com and share. Thank You.

The Scudder Intervention Services Foundation, Inc. ‘SISFI’ and The Su***de Institute invite you to our virtual Health and Wellness Luncheon “Emotional Males Chronicles: “Facing Our Pain, and Finding Hope and Strength Through Vulnerability, and Embracing/Expressing Emotions for Healthy and Safe Lifestyle” on December 16th 2021 from 12pm-1pm to bring light to the societal challenges, stigmas and stereotyping of male emotions. With so much going on across the world and being exposed and affected by the impacts, many males are struggling, suffering, hurting, and dying from emotional pain and mental health challenges with no one to express to or understand them and so they suffer in silence and plain sight. The language of emotions for males is different and is often non-verbal or physical and until/unless we understand the language, we won’t the behaviors and how to support their struggles to mitigate and prevent suffering and self-harm. Violence against self is a form of emotion males experience when they can’t express emotional pain and bottling up inside. They take out their anger on self and often loved ones, yet unchecked, we label them as abusive, violent, evil and wicked but not understanding the root causes and extent of their experiences that brought them to this level.

Bring your lunch and join us for this educational, healing, and empowering presentation and discussion on understanding and humanizing how males experience emotions and supporting their overall health and wellness during these heightened emotional crises. You never know who is hurting, struggling, suffering, and dying and needs this understanding to support and ease their pain and suffering. Our presenter is Mr. Brett A. Scudder, Su***de Attempt Survivor, and Behavioral Health and Wellness Director, Crisis Response Director/Trainer at SISFI and The Su***de Institute. Mr. Scudder attempted su***de as he struggled with emotional pain, addiction, anxiety, depression, loneliness, PTSD, multiple traumas from near death experiences and giving up on life from the challenges, pain, and losses he experienced. He now uses his experiences, studies, and research on the conditions to educate and empower people across communities so they can live happier, healthier, safer, and more fulfilling lives for themself and their families and reducing the levels of mental health and violence in homes and communities.

Bring your lunch and join us as we share this moment of edification and understanding these very real and important things for males in our lives and communities. RSVP at sisfi.eventbrite.com. Please share with your networks so others can be aware and join us. You never know who is hurting, struggling, suffering, and dying and can benefit from this. We look forward to having you with us and enjoying your physical and psychological feeding.

Invite to "How Are You? Winter Wellness Week, Dec. 19th-25th.

Season’s Greetings Beautiful People,

How are you?
Wishing you and yours a safe, sane, healthy, peaceful, restful, blessed and fulfilling holiday season living the fulfillment and safety of our lives.

It has been an extremely challenging psychological rollercoaster for everyone as the Covid-19 pandemic heightens during these emotional holidays when family, loved ones and friends are so desperately in need of human connectedness and the spirit of the holidays but again must again socially distance in light of another serious variant permeating the globe causing heightened emotions of agoraphobia, anxiety, fears, lockdown, loneliness, stressors, hospitalizations and deaths. As we get into Christmas, let us remember that it’s not “Merry” for everyone and many are really feeling low, down, anxious, depressed, overwhelmed and grief stricken and may need extra Love, support, comfort and to connect meaningfully with others.

If celebrating the holidays, be mindful of these realities and feelings and not throwing them in each other’s face but checking in and asking, How Are You, How Are You Feeling/Doing? to connect and get to know each other in more meaningful humane ways regardless of titles, roles, social status, and affiliations. So many of us, even myself, are feeling the exhaustion and despair of twenty-two months of this pandemic and impacts across every aspect of our lives and society. I too want to get over with and past this, but the reality is, we are still facing a serious threat and lives are being impacted in all kinds of painful and fatal ways so let’s be smart, safe, and sane.

I am truly humbled and eternally grateful to elected officials and everyone across the state who engaged in the Aug. 1st-7th Wellness Week Welcome to New York State’s “How Are You?’ Wellness Week – How Are You? Wellness Week (howareyouwellnessweek.com) that was openly seen, meaningfully felt, deeply impactful and effectively delivered and understood to start this initiative with strong support that we are building on with frequency to keep reminding us of how important it is to remember. Such powerful breath-changing connections were made, and new health and wellness initiatives started in business, churches, and places from it.

So, again, we invite you to join us in rekindling these basic altruistic, intrinsic and innate humane values and traits on Dec. 19th-25th for our “How Are You? Winter Wellness Week” across New York State. Let’s put aside our differences, ethnicities, technology, social media, political affiliations, biases, s*xuality, social status, materialism and things that aren’t about the true heart, mind, soul and spirit to engage with each other, the stranger on the street, the people we know and meet, and those we see but never engage with to ask these three words with a genuine heart and nonjudgmental mind; How Are You, and allow time to listen and engage in conversation about what is shared. Let the conversation happen in the workplaces, from pulpit of churches, tables in restaurants, seats at bars, walking together somewhere, in public places and sports fields over a meal, chat, or a drink. Let How Are You be the focus of our conversations for that one week and let us truly get to know each other on a deeper humane level so we are not losing people to loneliness, grief, loss, isolation and feeling like they are the only one experiencing their struggles and pain.

We look forward to the support and positive, meaningful, and effective impacts that will be made. Please see more details on the website which will be updated frequently as we develop the initiative. If you are interested in recognizing, engaging, and supporting the effort please let me know so we can share it on the site.

Please share attached flyers and info with your networks and help to get the word out. Looking forward to your support.

Thank you very much and have a great day one breath at a time with an attitude of humility and gratitude embracing positive energy and enlightenment to improve your quality of life and overall health and wellness. 07/18/2021

Good day beautiful people,

How are you?

I’ve been deeply troubled about the state of wellness we’re living in and impending Post-Covid19 and felt like I needed to do something else very significant to help address the deeper levels of hurt, pain, grief, loss, loneliness and suffering people are experiencing. So, from my work with people going through unimaginable experiences and the feedback, I’ve come up with what I believe will be a very meaningful, significant and effective way of addressing emotional wellness, metal health and quality of life for us as a people, and I invite you to join me in it. My sincere gratitude to the elected officials supporting and working with me to make this a resolution for the State. Although we missed getting it done the past session, we will pick it back up in next session.

The idea came from my frustration attending events and noticing how we get straight into the formalities of them without even checking in or knowing how people are feeling in the present moment, and how often many of us are going through challenges unbeknownst to even co-workers, associates and church members. Too often, the hard true realities of our lives are overlooked and not even considered or asked about our state of mind and being, so we continue repeating the same cycles of life working, performing, achieving, surviving, and existing; but not living the best and healthiest. Sometimes I would ask if it's ok to take a few minutes to ask how people are feeling and often people will respond sharing their mental health and emotional state giving them some relief and comfort just getting it off their chest and being able to share it. We’ve all been overexposed to increasing use of technology and virtual integration into our private and professional lives whether we liked it or not and we hardly ever get to express how we feel about it.

In all the events I facilitate or organize, I always start with a check-in of attendees to allow them a safe, comfortable and relieving opportunity to express their emotions at the moment and if someone is not in good spirit, feeling overwhelmed, stressed out and going through emotional pain challenges I provide words of encouragement, support, upliftment and tools to help them while asking others to also surround the person with Love so they know they are not alone nor should feel like it's not ok to share how they are feeling. Sometimes, depending on whose meeting it is, if someone's emotional state or mental health is unsettled, I will change the agenda to give time for persons experiencing the challenges. I believe that an unsteady mind cannot stay attentive or focused so why not take some time to help address it.

The feedback, reception and response to these check-ins have taught me repeatedly how invaluable it is to give people a chance to clear their hearts and minds of emotions, emotional pain, and mental health challenges before thrusting them into formalities that they may not be able to function, focus or cope with effectively due to their state of wellness. Therefore, I wanted to do something on a statewide level to bring this awareness to everyone in every facet of our society so we can start focusing more meaningfully and effectively on people's State of Wellness, physical and psychological. Hopefully, other States will see the benefits and do something similar so we can have a national effort of this level.

So, I invite you to join me and my organizations in recognizing the importance of rekindling these basic altruistic, intrinsic and innate humane values and traits on August 1st-7th for our “How Are You? Wellness Week” across New York State. Let’s put aside our differences, ethnicities, technology, social media, s*xuality, social status, materialism and things that aren’t about the true heart, mind, soul and spirit to engage with each other, the stranger on the street, the people we know and meet, and those we see but never engage with to ask these three words with a genuine heart and nonjudgmental mind; How Are You, and allow time to listen and engage in conversation about what is shared.

I am truly happy that his efforts have already been seen, felt, and understood to be able to start this initiative with strong support that we are sure will be growing much greater before, during and after Aug. 7th. We look forward to the support and positive, meaningful, and effective impacts that will be made. Please see more details on the website I’ve setup for the effort here which will be updated frequently as we develop the initiative Welcome to New York State’s “How Are You?’ Wellness Week – How Are You? Wellness Week (howareyouwellnessweek.com)

Please share with your networks and help to get the word out. If you are interested in recognizing, engaging and supporting the effort please let me know so we can share it on the site. Looking forward to your support.
