It all started when Healthy Joy Bakes owner and CEO Isaac Sander was taking care of his elderly grandmother who was suffering from diabetes. In coping with her ailment she struggled with abstaining from eating bread, a favorite lifelong staple in her daily meals. As the 3rd generation in a line of family bakers, we tried to concoct a recipe that would allow her to enjoy bread without the risk of elevating blood sugar. Many recipes were tried including whole grain wheat, whole spelt and others. None would make the cut due to their high carbohydrate content. After enlisting the help of a group of reputable health professionals and nutritionists, Healthy Joy Bakes has developed a revolution in the diet industry with the creation of Omega Power Bread made with flaxseed. With the modern day onset of specialty diets and weight loss fixes, carbohydrates are always considered the primary problem. Switching to a restricted diet is tough enough, but drastically minimizing bread portions or substituting bread for other foods makes it all the more difficult. With only 1 net carbohydrates per slice, you can have bread as you would regularly, without worrying about the repercussions of high sugar.
