👉🏻If you’re feeling emotionally exhausted or drained, it can be the result of chronic stress or overextension. The thing is, chronic stress can lead to severe mental health conditions, trouble with nervous system regulation, feeling anxious or on edge, snapping at others, losing your temper, feeling irritable, struggling to stay on task/ complete tasks, and chronic tension headaches/neck pain or TMJ flare ups.

✨In order to protect our minds and bodies, it’s important that we become aware of our energy givers and energy drainers.
👉🏻Energy givers provide us with light and fulfillment. They make us feel peaceful, accomplished, and whole. They help us practice self-care and maintain wellness.
👉🏻Energy drainers make us feel disconnected, exhausted, or overwhelmed. They often increase our feelings of stress and contribute to feelings of imbalance.

✨Identify your own energy givers and drainers! This way you can rev up your self-care when needed or protect your peace by avoiding draining situations. If you do have to engage with energy drainers, lean on your self-care tools to manage these challenging situations.

Let’s be honest, life can be incredibly draining at times. We’re wired to believe that we must do all of the things, all the time, at full capacity and we're encouraged to push any feelings of discomfort aside so that we can proceed with fulfilling our societal or familial expectations. But the thing is, this lifestyle is not a sustainable💓 Overextending ourselves leads to burnout and takes a devastating toll on our physical and mental health.

👉🏻Here are 5 warning signs of burnout so you can be on the lookout 👀
1-Physical and mental exhaustion
2-Isolating from others
3-Feeling dreadful about responsibilities or expectations
4-Withdrawing from responsibilities
5-Feeling helpless or defeated
6-Feeling irritable, angry, or resentful
7-Snapping at or being short with others

✨So what do we do about it?
1-Engage with others.
2-Be mindful of the energy you surround yourself with.
3-Remove stressors that drain your energy/ leave you feeling depleted and set boundaries.
4-Find meaningful activities that give you purpose, passion, and joy.
5-Get support from a coach or therapist

👉🏻It’s a fact: overextending to please others will negatively impact your mental health. It can lead to emotional exhaustion, burnout, stress, and anxiety.

✨Being a caring and supportive person is an important part of maintaining healthy relationships with loved ones but it’s also important to understand our limits.

✨If you’re pushing your feelings aside or pursuing the happiness of others at the expense of your own wellbeing, you're engaging in unhealthy behaviors that will undoubtedly hurt your physical and mental health.

👉🏻Here are a few commons signs of overextension:
1- You have a hard time saying “no.”
2- Your body constantly feels on edge or high alert because you’re juggling all the things.
3- You never have any free time because you’re always doing things for other people.
4- You neglect your own needs in order to do things for others.
5- Your body feels tired and your mind is exhausted. You’re having a hard time concentrating and keeping up.

🚨So what do we do about it?
1- Be mindful of the things that give you energy and drain your energy. Do more of what lifts you up.
2- Show yourself compassion and love. Use affirmations!
3- Remain patient when you feel overwhelmed and remember that your needs are important.
4- Identify your needs and enforce boundaries.

👉🏻Did you know that stress can manifest in the body and present as physical ailments? Read below for some signs you may be stressed and tips on how to manage! 👇🏻

✨Nausea, vomiting, digestive issues, chest tightness, jaw pain, headache, back pain, and neck tension are all common physical symptoms of stress.

👉🏻 The problem is, if we don’t get down to the root of the cause and find meaningful self-care practices to alleviate stress, these physical symptoms will continue to persist regardless of medical intervention.
✨In other words, it’s imperative that we heal our internalized pain in order to find physical relief.

👉🏻We do this by finding our tension tamers and practicing them regularly to get ahead of any stress induced symptoms. Exercise, rest, meditate, read, sing, dance, cuddle, sleep, whatever feels right to you! And work with a coach or therapist if you feel you need some additional support to work through your stressors💖

👉🏻 Mindset is evvvvverything! When we give into our limiting beliefs or allow narrow-minded thinking to consume our mind, we’re setting ourselves up for disappointment. Shifting our perspective allows us to approach situations from a place of abundance, rather than lack. It allows us to see the bigger picture and maintain a positive mindset that encourages us to move forward, overcome obstacles, and build resiliency💖✨
