Hi! For those of you who don’t follow my insta () I thought I’d give a quick about me here. About four years ago is when I first began interested in a more healthy way of living. I initially struggled sorting through social media and figuring out what to believe. My difficulties stemmed from a huge influx of unhealthy social media posts and unrealistic images. This led to unhealthy habits in my life as the majority of high school I spent trying quick fixes, fad diets etc. I never realized how much your diet affects not only your physical but mental health. Starting college, I knew how I was living was not going to be maintainable. Eventually, I learned that you don’t just wake up one day and feel better, happier or more confident. You have to be actively taking steps to get yourself there and putting in the work to change your mindset and lifestyle.
After reflecting about myself, it became easier to recognize this struggle in other people. It is upsetting how many girls face similar struggles and so I decided to major in Food Science at the University of Delaware. I plan to work in marketing for the health industry to promote healthy lifestyle habits. There is no one size fits all in health which is why it’s important to find what works and is maintainable for you. To encourage and motivate people to do the same I created my own resistance bands and workout plan. My goal was to keep the products inexpensive without sacrificing quality. Working on yourself should be accessible and affordable.
The lotus flower is my logo on my workout bands because it symbolizes resilience. Despite it growing through muddy waters, it blooms to be beautiful. Our circumstances do not define us, we have to focus on our attitude and strive for better. No one has it easy, but when you want something bad enough and you’re willing to work for it you can achieve it. And as cliche as it sounds, don’t hand over your power to other people’s opinions or comparisons, love and be confident in yourself as you are and everything really does get a whole lot easier.
I’ll be posting soon about my black friday sale so stay tuned! :)
