Crown Heights Shomrim

Shomrim responded swiftly to an urgent call from CTeen leadership to assist approximately 150 CTeens stranded at JFK Airport. Three vehicles and seven dedicated volunteers delivered food and water and provided critical logistics and transportation support, including assistance for an additional group of teens staying at a nearby hotel. In addition, Shomrim arranged and coordinated two buses to transport groups of teens back to Crown Heights.

Thank you to Rabbi Yaakov Behrman for helping ensure a smooth process with JFK security and leadership, in coordination with city officials and the NYPD. Special thanks as well to community activist Isaac Cohen for his invaluable assistance liaising with the Port Authority and the TSA, helping ensure a smooth outcome.

*Thursday night* volunteers stationed at Bedford Armory and around Crown Heights.

*Friday night* Our Shabbos Patrol escorted thousands of teens safely into the neighborhood.

*Motzaei Shabbos* Crown Heights and Manhattan Shomrim assisted the NYPD in securing the CTeen concert in Times Square, with units on train platforms and K-9 patrols.

*Sunday* Patrols continued in Crown Heights until the early morning hours.

Our volunteers provided security and visible patrols throughout Kinnus week, including the various Shluchos events and the girls’ Kinnus at Beis Rivkah, while accompanying the Shluchos to and from the Bedford Armory.

Shomrim volunteers took part in the Kinus Hashluchos and CTeen security briefing alongside NYPD leadership from Community Affairs, Brooklyn South Command, and the 71st Precinct, hosted by the Kinus and CTeen leadership teams.

URGENT UPDATE:
A vehicle drove into the side doors of 770 Eastern Parkway, Chabad Headquarters. Baruch Hashem, there are no injuries. Witnesses report the driver yelled for people to move before driving in, and the incident appears intentional.

The Shul was evacuated as a precaution. Please stay away from the area while authorities ensure there are no additional threats.

Shomrim is assisting the NYPD with the ongoing investigation. The driver has been arrested.

For two nights last week, suspects were seen with shovels entering a manhole in Crown Heights, alarming residents. Using Shomrim’s state-of-the-art operations systems, the vehicle and suspects were located and identified, and information was shared with NYPD. When the car returned Wednesday, Shomrim spotted it and police moved in - four suspects were positively identified and arrested. Great teamwork between Shomrim and the .
