Shomrim responded to a report of a male acting erratically on the street. Shomrim volunteers arrived within a minute and successfully located the individual. Our units monitored him closely until he left the Crown Heights area without incident.

This individual has a known history of violence. If you see him in Crown Heights, do not approach - call Shomrim immediately at 718-774-3333.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., Shomrim responded to a report of a stolen moped that was being tracked within the area. Shomrim volunteers swiftly located the vehicle and worked in close coordination with the NYPD to recover it safely. Thanks to their joint efforts, the moped was promptly returned to its rightful owner.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., a real-time call came in about a stolen high-end double stroller, and Shomrim quickly responded. Our volunteers spotted the thief with the stroller, and with support from our operations team providing video evidence, swiftly placed the suspect under arrest.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., an explosion occurred in a home on Empire Boulevard, off Kingston Avenue. Shomrim volunteers were first on scene, helping to secure the house and confirming that, B”H, there were no injuries.

Tonight, a small fringe group spreading anti-Semitic rhetoric held a vigil intended to sow division and hate. They were firmly rejected by the local African American and Jewish residents of our community. Thanks to the vigilance of , Community Affairs, as well as Shomrim members - who were quietly on hand to help ensure calm - everything remained safe and peaceful. In the end, they left unsuccessful, not achieving their hateful goal.

🚨 At approx. 4:00 PM, Shomrim volunteers from Crown Heights, Williamsburg, and Boro Park, responded to an assault in progress near Bedford Ave & Fulton St.

Thanks to their swift action, the situation was contained and made an arrest, and one victim was treated by EMS.

At approximately 5:30 PM, Shomrim volunteers, working closely with , apprehended this repeat burglar and thief who has plagued our neighborhood for years, cycling in and out of prison every few weeks. The NYPD has done a great job taking him off the street - now it's on the justice system to finally keep him off the street. For a long time.

🚨𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗥𝗜𝗠 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗧🚨

We’ve received multiple reports of a scammer infiltrating local WhatsApp groups. The scam works like this:

1️⃣ They message you pretending to be a group admin or someone you know and ask for your 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲.
2️⃣ If you give it, they take over your WhatsApp account.
3️⃣ They then message all your contacts asking for money or personal details — and people have been falling for it.

Protect yourself:

❌ 𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 share your WhatsApp code with anyone — not even friends or family.

📞 If someone asks for money, 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 to confirm — especially if you feel this request is out of place.

Shomrim responded to a report of a porch pirate stealing packages in the South Crown Heights area. Thanks to a fast response, we were able to locate the individual and update with his location. He was subsequently placed under arrest.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., our volunteers responded to a frantic call from a husband who was out of town. He reported seeing an intruder inside his home while his wife and children were asleep. Thanks to the swift response of Shomrim and the , the suspect was quickly apprehended inside the house and placed under arrest.

A few weeks ago, a prolific thief stole several thousand dollars' worth of computers from a local business. Thanks to the swift response of Shomrim’s operations team, we were able to track his movements before, during, and after the theft, ultimately identifying the perpetrator. Today, he was arrested thanks to a sharp-eyed volunteer and strong collaboration with .
This is what teamwork and community vigilance can achieve.
