Eat Your Stress Goodbye 🧘🏼‍♀️🍽️ Stress-Reducing Diet

When you’re stressed out, the foods you’re turning to will most likely be traditional ‘comfort’ foods – think big meals, take-out, fatty foods, sweet foods, and alcohol 🥡🧁🍺Let’s face it – we’ve all found comfort in a tasty meal and a bottle of beer or glass of wine when stressed or upset about something. However, this isn’t a good permanent solution🙅🏼‍♀️

When you’re turning to unhealthy foods, you can feel better temporarily, but in the long run, you will feel worse 🤒 When your body isn’t getting the proper nutrition, you can feel less energetic, more lethargic, and in some cases, less able to concentrate and focus 😵‍💫 All of this can lead to even more stress 😰

Some of the best stress-fighting foods include:

🥑 Avocado
🫐 Blueberries
🍵 Chamomile Tea
🍫 Dark Chocolate
🥣 Oatmeal
🥩 Grass-fed Beef
🌰 Walnuts
💚 Pistachios
🥬 Green Leafy Vegetables
🫙Fermented foods

As the saying goes, you are what you eat – so make sure that, first and foremost, you’re filling yourself up with foods that are good for your mental health 🧠

Your mind influences your body, emotions, wellness, and motivation. Which is something I have learned the hard way over the years. I slowly taught myself the skills and techniques to navigate situations, which has served me more than I can explain.

If you are struggling with your mindset and mental health, here are some things you could consider:

Be honest with yourself. The world is so busy today that we can all easily lose sight of how we really feel deep down.

Consider implementing a journaling practice into your daily life. Consider practicing free writing by letting your words flow onto the page. Don’t judge what you write, but reflect on your response.

Doing this alone can increase your mind-body connection!

Pushing through challenges isn't always fun, but here is some encouragement I have for you...

Feeling overwhelmed and defeated is a normal part of life, and true self-confidence comes from doing hard things!

When you prove to yourself that you can overcome challenges with resilience and fortitude, you build self-reliance that allows you to continue showing up for yourself in the future.

If you get overwhelmed during challenging times, lean into your self-care practices! Be patient with yourself.

Instead of getting defeated at the first sign of a challenge, take a deep breath and visualize how you can shift gears to get to your destination.

Often times, it doesn't matter HOW you get there, only that you make it

Who else has the itch to travel?! 

The next chance I get, I’m going to take a trip to Paris, France for at least three months!

I can’t wait to absorb the many things I love about that city—the fashion, the arts, the joie de vivre, the food, and (of course) the drinks!

I went to San Diego earlier this year and had some delicious beverages at . The Venetian Spritz was my favorite!

It’s only been 3 days since running the , which means I’ll be spending my day resting and replenishing my body and reflecting on the experience.

I’m so thankful I had six months to train and focus on a big goal like this. Running has always been more of a mental exercise than a physical one (although my feet DO hurt). It’s a place to take time for myself, clear my head, and focus on my spiritual growth. An opportunity to demonstrate that I can do hard things. I’ve already signed up for several races this winter, so keep an eye our to see what I’ll be up to next.

Can I make a confession? When I first started life coaching I had no idea how much I’d love this job…

I started because of my own desire to learn and grow,, but if I’m being honest, I thought I might  not be able to give enough value to my clients, which I wasn’t the most excited about. 

But, from the moment I realized I could truly help people while achieving the rewarding feeling  we all want in our work, I knew this was the right path for me. 

Additionally, what I didn’t expect was the incredible community of talented people I would meet along the way. Which, was exactly what I needed to inspire me to take on the challenges coaching brings.
