The truth is, mindfulness isn't just about sitting still and meditating; it's a way of being present and aware in every moment, no matter how small.

Focusing on the smallest acts can be a form of meditation. Whether it's washing dishes, brushing your teeth, or even just walking, you can bring a sense of mindfulness and presence to each action. By slowing down and really paying attention to the sensations and details of each moment, you create an opportunity to cultivate inner peace and clarity.

When we focus on the small things, we're able to appreciate the beauty and richness of each moment and find joy in the present. We're also able to let go of worry, stress, and anxiety about the past or future and simply be where we are. So I invite you to try incorporating mindfulness into your daily activities today. All you need is comfortable clothing, a chair, and an open mind. The practice of Chair Yoga includes exercise for the eyes, joints, and limbs while prioritizing proper yogic breathing. In our fast-paced, always-connected world, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed out. We're constantly bombarded with information and distractions that make it hard to find a moment of peace and quiet.

That's why it's so important to intentionally create space in our lives for stillness and silence. Whether it's through meditation, yoga, or simply taking a few deep breaths, taking time to be still and disconnect can have a profound impact on our mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

When we allow ourselves to disconnect from external stimuli and turn inward, we create an opportunity to cultivate inner peace, clarity, and self-awareness. We're able to tune into our own needs and desires and gain a greater sense of perspective on our lives and the world around us.

So I encourage you to take a few moments each day to be still and disconnect. Whether it's a few minutes of meditation or a quiet walk in nature, allow yourself the gift of stillness and see how it can transform your life.

This morning I had the pleasure of teaching a virtual Pilates class, and it was amazing to see so many of you come together to move and breathe as one. It's been a challenging year, but through virtual classes, we've been able to stay connected and continue to prioritize our health and wellness.

Pilates is not just a workout; it's a way of life. It teaches us to move with intention and awareness, to find balance and strength in our bodies, and to approach each day with mindfulness and grace.

Whether you're new to Pilates or have been practicing for years, I hope today's class reminded you of the power and beauty of this practice. Let's continue to move together, wherever we are, and make every day Pilates Day! 💪🙏

Hey, Pilates enthusiasts! Have you ever heard of the Fletcher Towel Workout? Originally developed to teach basic shoulder girdle stabilization, this workout has now evolved into a total body movement workout.

So, how does it work? To start, all you need is a braided towel that you can hold with both hands. You'll then perform a series of stretching exercises while focusing on your hands, shoulders, feet, and thighs and transitioning smoothly between movements.

This technique can be easily adapted to both sitting and standing exercises and starts with basic, easy-to-do exercises that progress to more graceful movements.

At OM+ Studio, we love incorporating the Fletcher Towel into our Pilates classes. It's a simple but effective way to deepen your practice and challenge your body in new ways. You don't even need a Fletcher Towel to get started - a regular bathing towel will do just fine! Happy Garden Meditation Day, everyone! 🧘‍♀️🌾

Today we celebrate the power of mindfulness and the beauty of nature. As Swami Sivananda said, "A mountain is composed of tiny grains of earth. The ocean is made up of tiny drops of water. Even so, life is but an endless series of little details, actions, speeches, and thoughts. And the consequences whether good or bad of even the least of them are far-reaching."

In our practice of meditation, we learn to pay attention to those tiny grains and drops that make up our lives. We find peace in the present moment and become aware of the impact our actions, thoughts, and words have on the world around us.

Let's take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the gardens around us and reflect on the endless series of little details that make up our lives.
