The covid cases in children now are unbelievably HIGH. Napakadami. Buong pamilya ang may sakit. This is the highest census for my pediatric practice since this pandemic started. Dati paisa isa, ngayon more than 50% of my consultations are covid suspect. More than 50% ng nag nagpapa test positive. But MOST cases are mild (fever,cough,colds).
As per Dr Salvaña (Infectious disease expert), these are the recommendations when you are sick now:
Have symptoms of COVID-19? Here is what you should do if you have MILD symptoms when there are HIGH CASES in the community. If you are short of breath or have severe symptoms, go straight to the ER:
RT-PCR +: isolate for 10 days from start of symptoms
Antigen +: isolate for 10 days from start of symptoms
RT-PCR -: isolate for 10 days from start of symptoms
Antigen -: isolate for 10 days from start of symptoms
Don't want/can't get a test: isolate for 10 days from start of symptoms
Timing of testing matters. Meron pa ding false negatives. Let us be mindful of other people if you are not feeling well. Isolate na. Stay safe everyone.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR KID HAS FEVER:
1. Give Paracetamol. (Dosage nasa box ng gamot)
2. Sponge bath.
3. Observe. Don’t panic.
4. If fever is more than 48 hrs, then seek consult.
5. Most common causes: viral, bacterial infection, teething , roseola (tigdas hangin),or covid.
