Full Moons have a way of showing us what we didn’t want to see.
Not to punish us but to prepare us.

This Aries Super Full Moon isn’t here to coddle or comfort. Perhaps an exhale and then, it’s here to illuminate the truths that sting, the ones that break open the shell we’ve been living inside.

Sometimes that truth arrives as a conversation we didn’t expect, a sudden ending, or a realization about our own patterns. Or a deep recognition that no matter how hard you try, the relationship or path you invested yourself in will not work out. Not for a lack of trying rather due to differences that cannot be breached, even with love.

And it hurts. Because deep down, we knew.
We just weren’t ready to face it yet.

But the Moon’s light doesn’t lie.
It reveals what’s been quietly shaping our choices, draining our energy, or blocking our growth.

Truth can feel like loss at first.
But underneath it, there’s liberation, the kind that reminds us who we are and what we will no longer tolerate.

You don’t need to fight the illumination.
Let it burn what’s false.
Let it show you what’s real.

Because clarity, no matter how painful, is the most sacred act of self-preservation there is.

And once you’ve seen the truth in full light, you can never go back to pretending you didn’t.

Mucho amor, Vanessa

Loved Raices Creativas/Creative Roots Collective’s Latine Art Takeover today! Just sharing pics I have and there will be more coming! I love our beautiful community !

Thanks to all the brave folks who attended The Art of Intuition. We spoke on what intuition is, how fear and anxiety can throw us off, how inherited trauma and colonization has impacted our awareness, being an empath, the different types of intuition and how to manage the energetic information we receive on a daily basis.

So You Want to Lead a Retreat? 5 Things You Need Before You Start

Before you book the villa and light the sage, make sure you have these five essentials

These days, retreats are everywhere. Scroll through Instagram or TikTok and you’ll find glossy ads with waterfalls, cacao ceremonies, and captions like “We are our ancestors’ wildest dreams.” The promise of nature, exotic locales and gorgeous photos and unconditional community and sisterhood. Sounds beautiful, right? And yet…too often what I see behind the scenes are people hosting retreats without the training, experience, or capacity to actually hold the depth they’re promising. Sadly, many people fall for the beautiful location and the buzzwords that sell. I just returned from guiding my 6th retreat in Central PA ( I’ve led some in NYC and Mexico and Peru) and heard many horror stories at the end of our magical experience and felt called to share some thoughts!

This past weekend I hosted my 6th Annual Women’s Retreat in Pennsylvania, held on sacred land during the powerful days leading up to the New Moon & Solar Eclipse in Virgo.

I was honored to hold space for such beautiful, powerful women—women building careers, families, relationships, and lives while also writing books, guiding circles, and creating businesses. Being on this land, connected to earth, wind, fire, and breath, reminded us to come back home to our bodies, our spirits, and each other.

I witnessed women arrive weighed down yet hopeful and leave filled, joyful, overflowing with belief in themselves and in sisterhood. These moments touch me deeply, and I feel immense gratitude that this is my work, my calling, my life’s devotion.

My roots in this are strong. I began co-leading monthly women’s circles in NYC back in 1999. In a world that glorifies the quick and the filtered, I stand here as a mature healer—someone who knows that true mastery takes time. To go deep and hold space for both 1:1 sessions and large groups requires presence, devotion, and lived experience. I am proud to weave that into every retreat.

This gathering was a reminder that across ages and cultures, we can come together to create something loving, powerful, and transformational. 🙏🏽

Thank you to each woman who has been journeying with me for 5–6 years and said YES again to the Rooted in Autumn Retreat, and to the new sisters who came ready to serve with their gifts.

Deep gratitude to:
✨ Joy, for your powerful and transformational Voice Activation Session
✨ Ruthie, for your grounded and reconnecting hike .lerato
✨ Iris, our OG who has led our flow yoga for five years and counting
✨ And to my incredible husband, Ilhan, who shops, plans, cooks, and serves the most grounding and delicious meals—six years strong! I couldn’t do this without you.

I also realized I’m the only PA resident Latina holding retreats in PA and abroad now close to a decade with diverse attendees 🙏🏽

My heart is full. Here’s to more spaces of sisterhood, healing, and transformation.

Mucho amor,
Vanessa

HARRISBURG, Pa. —
When you find your people, a group that understands you, things just seem to click.

But finding your clique can sometimes take a lot of trial and error and improvisation.

For the past year, a small group of amateur comedians has been performing together in what is the Susquehanna Valley's — and likely Pennsylvania's first — Latino improv troupe.

"It's almost like we're cousins, or family, or a dysfunctional family. We have the loud one. We got the late one. We got the one where there's always drama. We got the chill one," said member Dan Honegger.

The group is called Los Complicados.

"We realized it's complicated, how we feel being Latino. Some people didn't feel like they were. They were like, 'I don't know if I relate to that.' Other people were like, 'Yeah, I'm bilingual, bicultural.' So, we're complicated. Los complicados," said founder Vanessa Codorniu.

They practiced in Vanessa's house, then debuted at the Harrisburg Improv Theatre to a crowd even they didn't expect.

"There were people sitting on the floor. There were people on the sides. There was standing room only, and for the first time, I saw maybe it was 3/4 Latino," said Vanessa.

"People couldn't even see us. They were standing out there, but they were still listening to us. And it's like, when did I become famous?" said Sara Bustard, laughing.

But aside from having fun and sharing laughs, Los Complicados are trying to get their stories out in a venue where their voices are not often heard.

"I also want Latinos to know improv is for us, because it's been seen as a white people thing. No, they're just doing it a lot. We can also take time off, we can also have hobbies, we can also share our stories, and people are open to it," said Vanessa.

Los Complicados are hoping that with more exposure, their clique will grow so they can try to get more laughs in a language that is universal.

WGAL News 8 is marking the start of National Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month with a Project Community spotlight.

Life has a way of showing you everything you need to know if you're paying attention.

Not everyone is meant to walk with you into the places you dream of sharing. Alignment is real and it's essential to notice who and what is truly resonating with you.

Not just what you want to see or hear rather what is actually being said beneath the surface.

Discernment over desire. Clarity over comfort. Pay attention and be grateful for truth as it gives you the ability to choose.

Eclipse Season: When the Sky Shakes Us Awake by VC

Have you ever felt life unexpectedly hit the fast-forward button? One moment, you’re cruising along; the next, you’re staring at a breakup, a breakthrough, or a brand-new beginning you never planned. That, my loves, is eclipse season in action. The Universe is like, “Plot twist! Did you think you had this figured out?”

Eclipses are among the most powerful cosmic events we experience. They arrive in pairs, solar and lunar approximately every six months, demanding attention. They are not polite, they don’t wait for our "readiness," and they always carry purpose.

In my life, I have had to choose to create events during eclipse season: a dream retreat trip to Peru during an eclipse in Scorpio, Spring Equinox retreats in PA and I recently performed my one woman show, PERRA P**A LOCA BRUJA during the lunar eclipse in Pisces. While the Scorpio one really pulled back the veil in a shocking way, the retreats help people breakthrough and I was terrified of doing my show two months before but on the day surrendered to the Pisces midheaven energy and flowed and channeled! Not every eclipse is about hiding away for fear the stress and grief it may bring.

Let’s dive into the magic of eclipse season: what it is, how it impacts our lives, and how you can navigate it with presence, grace, and maybe a dash of humor.

Join me this this Sunday for the workshopping of my first One woman show!

If you've ever struggled with inherited stories, mindsets and society's expectations to break free and become your own person- this show is for you!

PERRA. P**A. LOCA. BRUJA.

Four words once used to wound and four archetypes rising from the ashes.

In Perra P**a Loca Bruja, healer and performer Vanessa Codorniu transforms curses into crowns, weaving stories of lineage, rage, love, and liberation. Each word becomes a mirror: the “bitch” who survives, the “whore” who reclaims, the “madwoman” who sees, the “witch” who integrates and heals.

And what happens when we alchemize curses into blessings and become something we’ve never seen before ?

Part theater, part ritual, part rebellion—this one-woman show is a revelation, inviting audiences to laugh, grieve, and remember the power we were taught to fear.

I’m workshopping it at The York Fringe Festival, Sunday, September 7, 3-4 pm

What does everyday magic really look like?

Not the staged altar or the elaborate three-hour ritual — but the small, lived moments that keep our power alive through the busy, messy seasons of life.

That’s what you’ll hear in Living the Magic, a free 3-day private podcast series hosted by Wendy Mata of Bruja Power Botanica.
From August 20–22, 13 magical practitioners (including me) are opening a window into our practices:
Casting bedtime circles with family

* Pleasure rituals and moon baths
* Energy-shifting home cleanses
* Daily archetype check-ins

It’s raw, real, and full of magic.
