Here's the challenge!!! Whoo hoo!!!!!

1. Below is a mantra for you.

2. Copy this mantra and put it somewhere you can find it easily.

3. Modify it however you want, but keep it basically saying some version of "I'm awesome as I am", and keep it about the same length.

4. Use it in the next 24 hours as many times as you can.

5. Every time you use it, give yourself some points according to the system below.

6. Before 11am Eastern (NY time) tomorrow (Aug 2), submit your total points in a comment on this post.

7. The person with the most points will receive IN THE PHYSICAL MAIL a beautiful artist's rendering of YOUR mantra, created by one of our resident Blissipline artists! (Possibly me, but any other artists who would like to volunteer your services for this game, reach out to me!)

8. EVERYONE who makes over 100 points will receive a recording of me, reading YOUR mantra to you, with your name in it, so you KNOW it's just for you.

9. EVERYONE who practices this at all, will receive the benefit of using deliberate neuroplasticity to create new networks in the brain that encourage you to love yourself.

The Mantra:

I am a good person. Even if all my life I have been told there's something wrong with me, that is utter nonsense. I am perfectly myself, and that is enough. I have every right to be exactly as I am, and how I am is GOOD. No matter what anyone says, or what my own conditioning brings up in my mind, I am a good person. I am perfectly myself. And that is enough.

(Remember, you can modify it however you like... just keep to some version of "I'm awesome as I am", and keep it about the same length.)

The Point System

1 point for every time you say it out loud
5 points for recording it in your phone and listening to it once.
1 point for every time you listen to the recording again.
10 points for writing it down by hand -- no matter how terrible your writing -- and decorating it in any way, and putting it somewhere you can see it.
20 points for any increase in artistic creativity and recording your creation somehow. For example, making it into a song and recording it, creating a full-on work of visual art of any kind, making it into a dance and videoing or simply writing down the moves, or anything else you can think of.
10 extra points if you shout it loudly at any moment in the day!
1 extra point for every time you comment on this post that you did it (again)

At its core, my Blissipline work is peace work. It has been that way for me for several decades now.

I was very dedicated to peace activism throughout my young life. At some point in the 90's, it became clear to me that the tendency within humans to react aggressively rather than find skillful resolution was a foundational problem. I saw that while the lobbying and demonstrating and teaching I was doing might be important, they were not nearly enough, because they would always fall short as long as we were still caught in this tendency.

I realized that MY contribution to creating a peaceful, loving world would be to learn how to help people create peaceful, loving relationships within their community, their families and primarily within themselves. I thought, if we can do this in the microcosms of our lives, we can slowly extend it out into the world.

I embarked upon a journey to learn all I could about how humans tick, and how to resolve difficulties and conflicts.

Blissipline is the result of that work.

One of the ideas that inspired me over the years came from this story:

Mikhail Gorbachev was asked who inspired him to have the courage to make the huge changes he brought to the Soviet Union, and he answered, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King was asked who inspired him, and he talked about Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

And Ms. Parks was asked what gave her the courage to keep sitting in that bus seat, and she talked about a grade school teacher she had who helped her have the courage to speak the truth.

We all have a part to play. I realized I while I may never be a world leader like Gorbachev, or lead a huge civil rights movement like King, or be forced to stand up for my rights like Parks, I can definitely be like her school teacher. Doing my tiny piece of the peace, and helping others develop that strength too.

I love this Dalai Lama quote. It recognizes that we need in place a strong skill of compassion to navigate the very real challenges of interacting with other humans.

Learning compassion for ourselves is a foundation for learning compassion for others. AND learning compassion for others is a foundation for compassion to ourselves.

Learning how to honor our own desires, hopes and dreams is a foundation for allowing the world's desires, hopes and dreams to manifest.

You matter. And the more you connect with your own wellbeing, the more empowered you are to make the changes you care about.

This is the journey of Blissipline.
