Thank you to the NSBE Houston Professional chapter for allowing me and my fellow leaders to serve on the Fall Fresh Start panel at HCC Alief campus. It was an honor to inspire the science, technology, engineering and mathematics African American high school and early college students.
We were able to speak about the progress, opportunities, challenges and steps towards a lucrative STEM career.

We had panelist that graduated from
many other prestigious universities and HBCUs

I was able to share with the students:

1. Technologies and robotics used in surgery as a nurse

2. How to thrive in mathematics and science as an African American girl and now woman

3. How Engineering and partnership in the operating room help make surgery faster

4. The engineering and mathematical aspects of reconstruction surgeries

I truly enjoyed sharing my story and inspiring students to love STEM,
medicine and nursing while nurturing their creative talents.

It was so exciting to answer their questions, open their eyes and present a new way to think about STEM.
