Here to Honor

Here to Honor Cultivating community around end-of-life learning We believe that death, as a shared human experience, can be approached with hope and togetherness.

Since its founding in 2020, Here to Honor has envisioned end of life as a journey that can actually lead to stronger relationships and being more fully engaged in the present. Our mission is to cultivate community around end-of-life learning so that everyone feels supported in facing mortality and equipped to make knowledgeable and loving decisions.

As we close out 2025 and welcome 2026, we pause to reflect on what a full year it’s been. We are thankful for our partners, organization clients, sponsors, and every single person who showed up to engage in end-of-life education. It takes a village to care for one another well, even unto death, and we all have a role to play.

We are particularly thankful for our first “Life & Death in New York City” summit, held in partnership with and , and looking forward to more to come. ✨

Here’s a recap of the day, beautifully captured by .

There are not enough words for all the joy, gratitude and love from the inaugural gathering “Life & Death in New York City” on Saturday. So much more to share but for now, sharing a glimpse of our communal lunch, thoughtfully catered by Pixie Scout.

We were nourished in body and spirit. We were invited to engage with our bodies, hearts, and minds as we contemplated and conversed about death. From practical workshops to sensory experiences, we were reminded of our finitude as humans and our deep and necessary need for one another.

It took a village to pull this event together, and we are grateful for amazing event partners, All’s Well Initiative and Goldenwood. Thank you Calvary-St. George's Church for hosting us in your historic and sacred facilities. Many thanks to our event volunteers who helped with setup, cleanup, and hospitality!

Thank you to each and every speaker and workshop presenter - we are lucky to have you in our community. And so much gratitude for all our sponsors and supporters who made this event financially possible.

And thank you to each and every person who showed up with bravery, curiosity, and tenderness. Death sucks but we are not alone. ❤️

Let’s keep taking care of each other. ✨

“Getting your affairs in order” can feel daunting, but it doesn’t have to be! Join us for “Death, Documents & Donuts,” a two-hour co-working session for completing end-of-life paperwork (such as documenting medical preferences or final wishes). Set aside the morning on November 1 to familiarize yourself with advance care planning, with practitioners on hand to answer questions. We’ll provide the forms, coffee, and donuts!

This event is being held in partnership with PSS.
