So sad that we D.O.s are caught in this political fight and having to face discrimination because of media misinformation and sadly it is coming from media that is so politically desperate that they are willing to compromise their integrity and put a whole medical profession on the line. Perhaps we should question the certification and degrees of these people in the media.

As a board certified family physician who proudly graduated from an osteopathic medical school and uses osteopathic principles in every one of my patient care this is truly insulting when the media doesn’t do it’s homework. Yes there is a difference between DO and MD - in addition to the same medical training in time and hours, we have to do additional training in manipulation and manual therapy.

Osteopathic physicians in USA MUST have the same medical training and license as our MD cohorts. Yes, osteopathic training outside of USA is different so please get your story straight.

Thank you for our MD colleagues who have defended us from this vitriolic misinformation.
