Twenty-two years ago, you came into this world and forever changed my life. You made me a mom, and from that moment on, my heart was yours.

Watching you grow into the incredible young man you are today has been one of my greatest joys. You’re kind, driven, smart, and full of so much potential—it’s awe-inspiring. You’ve faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, and I couldn’t be prouder of who you’ve become.

As you step further into adulthood, I hope you never lose that spark, that tenacity, that fire within you to chase your dreams and live life fully. Know that no matter where life takes you, I will always be your biggest cheerleader, your greatest supporter, and the person who loves you unconditionally.

Caught in the gym bathroom, deep in thought… contemplating the great mysteries of life. 🤔

Do I want to be lean? Yes. Do I want to build muscle? Absolutely. Do I want to get shredded? You bet. Do I want to eat cookies? Maybe…definitely…yes.

Finding balance is a daily if not hourly struggle don’t let anyone tell you otherwise🍪💪

11 days post spinal fusion surgery and feeling grateful for every step forward! 🙏 The first week was tough, with a trip back to the hospital and a separate ER visit, but the human body is truly amazing. This experience has deepened my appreciation for health, strength, and the incredible support of my family. I’m not the easiest patient, but with their help, I’m confident the worst of recovery is behind me. Thank you for all the kind words, love and support it means the world to me! I’m truly blessed 🙏🤗

🌟 **Life Update & A New Chapter** 🌟

Over the past 8 months I pushed hard to put on 20lbs, aiming to regain some of the muscle lost during three challenging years of chronic back pain and decreased training intensity. My coach and I had set our sights on one more competition at the end of August, planning to start prep just this past weekend. But life has its twists and turns, doesn’t it?

Two weeks ago, I had to accept reality. Despite my determination and mindset of invincibility, my back had other plans. 🏳️ Surrendering to what my body desperately needs, I am now gearing up for spinal fusion surgery scheduled for next week.

This isn’t a post of woes. I feel incredibly fortunate for my health, the unwavering support of my family and friends, and access to exceptional care. This is about recognizing the strength in vulnerability, understanding when to listen to your body, and accepting that we aren’t invincible. THIS IS TOUGH TO DO!

Yes, I’m scared—terrified, to be honest. But I’m also certain that I’ll be back, stronger and better than ever. That’s a promise! 💪🔥

For anyone who’s ever battled chronic pain, you know it’s a beast, both mentally and physically. I’m sharing my journey not just to update you but to remind us all: it’s okay to adjust our sails when the winds change direction.

Friday Fact 💯

Ever catch yourself saying “I’m fine” or “It’s fine” more often than not? 🤔 I do all the time, and didn’t even realize it 🤦‍♀️But what does “fine” really mean? Well, my therapist dropped a truth bomb that hit close to home:

F - Fu**ed up
I - Insecure
N - Neurotic
E - Emotional

Turns out, that while it describes me to a tee 🎯”fine” is a suitcase word, packing a lot more than it lets on. It’s a reminder that our mental and emotional health needs just as much TLC as our physical wellbeing. Let’s start unpacking that suitcase together, shall we? 💼💕

Remember, it’s okay to not be okay. It’s even better to talk about it and seek the support we deserve. Let’s make our inner health as important as the outer. Because we are worth it. 💖

Food is not your enemy! Choosing nutrient-rich foods in appropriate portions is key. Overdoing cardio while skimping on carbs can lead to a lackluster appearance and hormonal imbalances.

Harsh calorie cutting triggers a host of reactions: escalating hunger, plummeting satiety, preoccupation with eating, a drop in the satiety hormone leptin, a rise in stress hormone cortisol, and dwindling thyroid and s*x hormones. Expect also a dip in sleep quality, a subdued nervous system, and dwindling vitality.

When calorie intake is too low for too long, your metabolism downshifts to conserve energy, potentially stalling weight loss or even reversing it, culminating in weight gain.
