As PSI closes our 50th anniversary year, we’re filled with deep gratitude and renewed purpose.

In 2025, we reflected on our roots while continuing to grow, reaffirming our mission to integrate spirituality and psychotherapy in service of healing.

Together, we welcomed Khentrul Rinpoche for two powerful public programs, honored the legacy of Rev. John Kamas through the launch of a new named fund, expanded our Board with Derrick Jordan and Jasmine Shah, and continued training the next generation of spiritually integrated clinicians through our Summer Certificate Program. Behind the scenes, a capacity-building grant helped strengthen PSI’s foundation, making possible our next chapter.

As we close this milestone year and step toward our next 50 years, we thank you for your partnership, your belief in our work, and your continued presence on this shared journey.

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to support the work of the Psychotherapy & Spirituality Institute — not as a seasonal tradition, but as a meaningful investment in access, healing, and equity.

At a time when movements are calling attention to economic and racial injustice, we recognize that nonprofits like PSI have a role to play — not in consumerism, but in community care. Our work exists outside the marketplace, focused instead on expanding access to spiritually integrated, culturally responsive mental health support.

Your Giving Tuesday donation will help us:
-Lower costs for clinical training programs to increase access for clinicians and trainees

-Offer lower fee and sliding scale therapy through our spiritually-informed clinical network

-Sustain programs that bring depth, dignity, and cultural attunement to the practice of psychotherapy

This year, our Board of Directors has committed to match Giving Tuesday donations, dollar for dollar, up to $6,500 in total through the John Kamas Emergent Fund. This fund honors the legacy of the Rev. John Kamas, Board Chair Emeritus, whose mentorship and vision continue to guide our mission.

Every gift moves us closer to making quality, integrated mental health care more accessible — and ensures the next generation of clinicians is well-prepared to meet the needs of a diverse and evolving world.

We’re proud to share that Sarah McCaslin, MS, MDiv, LCSW, will be presenting at the 2025 Spirituality in Psychotherapy Summit on Friday, December 5 (2:45–4:00 PM CT).

Her session, “Fostering Vitality in Clinical Practice: Interventions for Joy, Purpose, and Possibility,” explores how therapists can help clients move beyond symptom relief to rediscover joy, purpose, and connection to life’s fullness.

Drawing on spiritual care, depth-oriented psychotherapy, and creative practice, Sarah will offer tools to increase presence, rekindle meaning, and hold space for both grief and transformation.
