p in Englewood, New Jersey and graduated from Dwight-Englewood High School. She received her BS degree from Skedmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY in 1984 and her BSN from Fairleigh Dickenson in Teaneck, NJ in 1988. For many years after graduation, Alison worked in the Emergency Room at St. In 1993, she enrolled in the Harlem Hospital Nurse Anesthesia Program, from which she graduated Suma Cum Laude in 1995, and simultaneously received her MSN from Lehman College in Bronx, NY. She was class valedictorian and was nominated into Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing. While anesthesiology was a wonderful opportunity to utilize her critical care skills, Alison missed interacting with conscious and self-directed patients and chose to leave anesthesiology to pursue a career in Family Medicine. In 1997, she received her Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Adelphi University in Garden City, LI. She is a Diplomat of the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is dually licensed in New York and New Jersey. Alison has post-graduate training in sports injuries and pain management. Other post-graduate studies include weight management and hormone replacement therapy. Additionally, she is a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant and is recognized by TASA as an expert witness for medical lawsuits. Alison has experience treating injuries from automobile accidents, work injuries, and sports injuries. She treats patients with a variety of conditions ranging from chronic to acute, as well as general wellness care and urgent care/sick visits. Alison is an avid nature lover and outdoor enthusiast. In her spare time, she volunteers with the Marine Mammal Stranding Center and Clean Ocean Action, and she is the Founder of the Edgewater Parrot Society. She loves yoga and is an avid hiker and kayaker. She shares her home with her husband, three cats, three birds, and a German Shepherd.
