About me

I am a licensed school counselor and a state license mental health therapist. In a school setting I help students to balance their social, emotional and academic life. In school I participate in giving parental workshops and I help students by teaching them life skills. I help students make decisions that affect their personal and academic development. I hold Conflict-resolution sessions as well. As a mental health therapist I assist families and individuals with issues that impact their overall well-being. I develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives. I give the client an opportunity to communicate their thoughts and help them identify behaviors that contribute to their situation and psychological state.

When I am working with my client I put a strong emphasis on developing a trusting & empowering therapeutic relationship. I use various techniques, such as play therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques in addressing certain presenting issues. I specialize in treating children & adolescents and their families with issues regarding disorders, development, anger, temper tantrums, defiant behaviors, school, peers, family, self-esteem and other various challenges.

I also focus on reducing stress for the parents by helping them develop more effective parenting skills & understanding the reasons behind their children's behaviors. My objective is to emphasize on prevention not only on crisis intervention. I would like to give individual or group counseling sessions related to families dealing with children with disabilities.
