I've been trying to post this for a month but I've been overwhelmed with the amount of photos I took and choosing which ones to post. And i kept giving up. .. so here goes:
One month ago we celebrated our 15th (!!)anniversary. We went on an adventure that started with a 3 day drive down to Miami (we stopped along the way at some cool places) then a 7 day Caribbean cruise and then a 3 day drive back.
It was fun! And of course there were challenges like tired whiney kids and torrential rain while driving. But all in all, I just want to get back on another cruise as soon as possible ๐Ÿ˜†
One of the best parts was getting the room organized twice a day lol.
So here is just a little taste of that adventure

๐Ÿ‹โ€โ™€๏ธsecond workout postpartum in the books๐Ÿ‹โ€โ™€๏ธ
Husband took first born to the museum and Baby took a long nap. This time I was able to leave him in the house (took the monitor with me to the garage)
Supersetting to save time:
Superset 1:
๐Ÿ”ธ๏ธ Deadlift built up to 135lb 2 sets of 5 . These felt so heavy! Crazy that last time I did these was exactly 2 months ago at 210lb.
๐Ÿ”ธ๏ธ Kneeling Pulldowns x 8 each leg
Superset 2:
๐Ÿ”ธ๏ธ Bent-over Rows 70lb 3x5 It takes too long to get the bar to the floor so i just stand on the bench ๐Ÿ˜†
๐Ÿ”ธ๏ธBarbell Bench Press 70lb 3x5
I stopped these early on in the pregnancy. Last time I did these was exactly 7 months ago. I didn't realize that I actually missed doing these. My least favorite exercise.
Can't wait to start putting the real weight back on the bar and to start doing pull-ups again . But I'm being careful and deliberate and making sure my core can take it. Activating that TVA (Transverse abdominus) ๐Ÿ’ช

I try to do some abs work at the end of my workouts, depending on the baby of course.
Here I'm doing a workout from ATHLEAN-X Six Pack Promise app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mi.AthleanX. It's a fun way to keep your abs work interesting because you can shuffle the workouts according to your level and equipment.
I'm lucky, I didn't have diastasis recti postpartum so I could get back into my regular abs work fairly quickly though it did take me about a month to start feeling more like myself once I did start working out (7 weeks postpartum) . I still have a lot of extra skin and a sunken belly button but they're my battle scars ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

Me going through the course at the event ATHLEAN-X
I'm amazed at how fast my body and strength bounced back only 17 weeks postpartum! I was really skeptical and apprehensive about this competition, I was not sure at all that I could complete the whole thing in the time alloted, let alone do well. (04:47min, time alloted: 06:30)
It ended up being challenging but a lot easier than I expected! I was the most nervous about the hill run at the end but it turned out being not bad at all, I feel like I was out of my body and my legs just hurtled me up that hill!
I was out of breath at the end, but compared to child birth this was child's play ๐Ÿ˜‰ maybe it prepared me more than I thought...
I recovered way too fast after, I felt like I could do it again 5 minutes later, especially after watching sprint up the hill like it was down hill... ๐Ÿ˜‰
At the end, if I'm being honest, I had a little left in the tank and I wished I had pushed myself just a little bit harder. Luckily my husband Odin Henry Winkler and my coach got me to go hard, I just know I will probably never be able to push myself as hard as my husband. He doesn't know how to go less than 100%when it comes to this kind of thing... He says: win or lose, as long as you feel like you gave it your all, you will feel like you won (paraphrasing, I think he says it better).
Next year I will go harder. I feel like the experience of having gone through child birth really gave me mental strength, now I just want to get physically stronger. I know a lot of people think I'm crazy and that I'm strong enough, but getting stronger and really challenging my body is an amazing feeling. I don't want to leave anything in the tank.
Thanks for filming and running the hill! .

Deadlifts, pullups and chest. I used my husband's belt. It's too big on me so I not sure it helped much. I'm having trouble keeping my shoulder blades back. I think all the bending over holding and nursing the baby may have weekend my upper back muscles a bit... But getting ๐Ÿ’ช

I know I've been absent for quite a while. Motherhood has been a real upheaval of my life. I didn't realize how much time I'd spend feeding him, around 10 hours a day! I've never spent that much time doing anything. I've never sat for so long either... so I know this video is not great quality, but I couldn't make it perfect. Otherwise I would've pushed it off even longer...
So thanks so much for sticking with me. Hopefully I'll be back making better quality videos soon.

I'm sorry I've been away for so long. Babies really take a lot of time... I finally did a short easy workout while on vacation at my parents house. Starting ...
