This July, The Vanguard Research Group proudly observes Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, a national campaign dedicated to highlighting the unique mental health struggles faced by underserved racial and ethnic communities. Originally established in honor of author and advocate Bebe Moore Campbell, this month reminds us of the urgent need to advance equity, representation, and culturally responsive care in the mental health field.
As a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) committed to improving behavioral health outcomes, we are focused on designing and conducting studies that include diverse populations and explore how different communities experience mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more. Our work is guided by the understanding that equitable care begins with equitable research.
This Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, we reaffirm our commitment to breaking down barriers—through collaboration, education, and science. We encourage healthcare providers, researchers, and policymakers to listen deeply, respond intentionally, and build systems that serve all communities with dignity and respect.
Because mental health is not one-size-fits-all—and everyone deserves a path to wellness.
